Senna has his fans here, but it is hard to argue with this decision:

I agree, but not too much more quality. This is a very good team in my opinion.

In this tournament and with their brazilian, yes.

The German team never reached their top performance (even vs Portugal) and this is very needed in an European Championship.

I think he was spot on.

I think you're the one who just can't get past your apparent fantasy of Germany being these "Teutonic Giants of Football" just not being true at the moment.

I think this Germany team could use a bit more quality. Not a lot, but just a bit more. A strong creative presence in midfield (perhaps two) and better central defenders would do it.

This is an overall very good Germany team, but it isn't "great."

However, you seem to think they are great, no matter how much they show themselves not to be.

The guy just pointed out some weaknesses of Germany's and you react like he just called them crap.......

Not surprising.

I don't think Germany is currently capable of playing any better than they did against Portugal.

Clearly yesterday Spain was a much better team than Germany. They were consistently a much better team throughout the tournament. The midfield play by Spain was superior in all aspects.

I agree 100%. Spain ran roughshod over their opponents by utilizing their midfield superiority.

Congratulations to Spain!
They deserved to win this thing, because they performed best during the entire tournament!
If they didnīt play against Germany yesterday, I would have cheered for Spain no matter, who their opponent was!

But as a German, I have nothing to be ashamed of! Itīs just satisfying to see, how far Germany gets in tournaments even if we donīt perform well! Thatīs something not many other teams achieve and shows the spirit of German teams!
And except of Spian, there is no other country thatīs in a position to ridicule the German team, because everybody else didnīt perform well enough to achieve, what Germany did!

However, felicidades Espana, celebra tus campeones!

EXACTLY!! Germany has nothing to be ashamed of!

This is why when fans make ridiculous excuses or accusations, it just makes my blood boil.

Why Palop was wearing Arconada's shirt?

After the match, was Sergio Ramos wearing a t-shirt in memory of Antonio Puerta???

That's what I thought it was.

It was a little homage to Arconada. Poor guy was the best keeper in the 1984 tournament, but he had that tragic miss in the final in the Platini FK.

I think if they made a coaching change, that problem would be greatly alleviated.

I think Loew is in over his head, and it showed in the Euros.

Loew was not able to take the pitch. Ultimately, for a quality a side as Germany is, the EM Final showed just what needs to improve for Germany to be successful. IMHO, it is not on Loew. Germany just did not have the horses Spain did.

Yes, they were childhood friends from the Seville youth teams.

Yes, I was aware of Arconda's giveaway in 1984.
I wondered about their relationship.... coach and pupil?

Thanks for that info. I thought that's what he was doing.

I read somewhere that Arconda was a guest of Platini's at the match. True??
