How could we answer, even he doesn't know :)

He will get a definitive medical status in a month and take a decision then.

If there's the slightest risk, he should retire!
Apparently it's a disease that appears after a certain age.

As much as a Bleus fan, I would want to see Thuram tutor <<le nouveau Thuram>> Mamadou Sakho at PSG, it's best if he retires as really, the man's won it all.

I dont see a scenario where he should play. Just to tutor young players isnt enough. Become a coach if you want to do that. If PSG were a good team and had a really good chance at winning the league then maybe it could be worth the risk but since thats not the case its not worth risking. I dont even know how well he would play even if he were healthy given his age.

He would be damn stupid to risk his life at age 36 (or even at age 21, for all that matters). This is no gladiator game.

Protesting against Sarkozy's European migratory policy, for example. :D

And defending the cause of the wealthy French citizens who decided to leave the country in order to pay less taxes !

He could make an association with Charles Aznavour, Renaud, Bruno Solo, Johnny Halliday, Laurent Voulzy and so, so, so many others :

TOUCHE PAS A MON REVENU !

STOP THE TAXES !

un peu vite en besogne P-H...

i pay my taxes in france, because i work in france, for a french company... i fill out a 1040 every year, but pay no taxes in the US... that doesn't make me an american alain ducasse.

tutu's tax bracket may be similar to johnny's or alain delon's, but his status during his career has been more similar to mine. if he finally does play for PSG (or retires) we'll see if the accusations made in different blogs and forums (or if you have more solid facts, please provide) hold true.

here's a question the answer to which would say much: what does thuram do about his match money from the FFF?

I know nothing about accusations on opther blogs (I'm not an active blogger in any case), and I have nothing against Thuram personally. I just think that someone who did most of his career abroad for money reasons (and therefore to pay less taxes) should adopt a more humble stance when critizing this country. If we want a more open country (*), we need money, therefore we need successful people who willingly become wealthy taxpayers. We need people like Thuram. Here. Not abroad.

However, I admit that Thuram is nowhere near the crass baseness of Charles Aznavour, for example, who emphatically rejected french taxes and now, with the enfoirés, gives weepy lectures about sharing the wealth. I won't talk about Renaud, since he disgraced himself all alone. And how many poor people could you feed with the cost of Emmanuelle Beart cosmetic surgery ?

I bloody don't understand why the left wing find those hypocritical jet-setters so inspiring. To me, they are the french equivalent of televangelists.

----------
(*) And I'm all for it, being from foreign origin myself.

i'm not a blogger either, i was simply curious after reading your post and googled thuram impôts... no concrete hits, only forum comments.

that thuram played his career abroad only for financial reasons we cannot be certain, and even then more enters into account than taxes.

we'll have to see how quickly thuram moves back from barcelona (it's perfectly normal he live there for the moment, but he can't have put down any great roots there), where he moves to and pays taxes in the future, before judging either positively or negatively.
