I mentioned earlier that I would post about travelling to away games, as people have expressed an interest in going to the game in the Ukraine.
Both with this game and the one in Russia you will need visas. Apply early as they take a long time to come through.
Also, avoid using credit cards. Ukraine can be considered as one of the "cloning capitals of the world".
(When I went to the Ajax game last season and my son used it in Amsterdam, 2 weeks later he found that he had given $5000 to a guy in the Ukraine!!!
(All refunded by the bank, thank God!).
Use cash money, either local currency or U.S. $ for better purchase rates.
Hotels are cheap, but pretty drap, although the top flight ones, shouldn't be more than around $150 for a 5* one. (Yes, they do have one!!! (LOL). )
Be wary of the "locals" in some aspect.
The guys will probably want to punch your lights out, while the girls will be looking for a ticket (visa) out of the place!
Other than that, just look for 3 points!! Jeff.
