Norwegian energy company Statoil will be sponsoring the Dynamo youth and player development. Inlcudes naming rights and shirt sponsorship for the youth players.

Between Statoil and Amigo energy, maybe they chose wisely with that name "Dynamo." :)

Not too surprising. Houston is the energy capital of the USA, and Statoil has quite a few employees there. I doubt the money they are putting out for the youth team is all that significant. Quite a few Houstonians have worked in Norway too.

Fulham defender Brede Hangeland was born in Houston. And I'm pretty sure his parents were Statoil employees at the time.

So....does Statoil have a US customer base? Are they trying to get their name out for recruiting employees? Why is it helpful for them to advertise with the Dynamo Youth?
