Rosseti almost had the game get away from him in the first half. He was good, I think both teams committed fouls that were worthy of cautions earlier. The head butt should have been a caution against the Spaniard. Can't recall who the player was.
it was Silva, dumb move by him, could have gotten a red. just like Lehman for his handball outside the box. also, the foul call in the Spanish box in the last minute was questionable. but whatever, the far far better team won today. and they are still very young, at least most of them. they seem to have a great future ahead.

ok thats bullshit. There have been times when excessive appealing have resulted in card. Why should this be any different from those times? You're not better qualified than the referee, so dont act as if you are
This is true. Captains have receive no special consideration with respect to arguing a referee's decision. That said, Rosseti should have shown Ballack the card much earlier. If he had Casillas would not have come out so far.

Good game by Spain and a well deserved win. Congrat for the second cup!!
I would say horrible subs from loew in this game!
The only good outcome from this tournament that Lehmann wont play for Germany anymore!

That was an obvious touch by Lehman, he should have been cautioned and play restarted with a DFK for Spain.

It's the Andelusian flag - he's a Seville native.
Fiorentina lives!

The Spanish did WHAT????? :eek::D
Never did I think I'd ever see the day... da%N!!!
YES!!!
Palop (3rd GK) was wearing the jersey worn by Arconada, who lost the 84 final with his mistake. That was dope!
Ramos had the Andalusian flag on BTW, and a T-shirt of Puerta RIP.
Madrid and all Spain going nuts now. I better email my Granada friends.
SER commentators are just crazy mad happy.

I'm sorry the tournament is over.
I turn 50 in May, 2012. I think I'm asking for a trip to Ukraine/Poland in June to celebrate. :D

He was thinking, "What shit defending by Lahm, I'd better get my ass out there even though I should have never had to move!"
Let's give credit where credit is due. Torres made a great move and fought through the challenge to win the ball. Also, what was Lehman doing after the shot trying to catch Torres nuts with his extended leg? If he brought him down without a goal resulting it would have been interesting to see how the referee would have ruled.

Congratulations, Spain. Well deserved. I'm very glad the Germans didn't goof a goal in at the end.

Germany hasn't been a defense first type of team for a good number of years.
This is 2008, not 1990.
They weren't as ugly as Italy, true, but they were still stolid. Not much attacking flair. Certainly, not consistent attacking flair. Really, they got to the final because of some earlier questionable cards against Turkish players in the group stage and some unfortunate Turkish injuries. For Germany's sake, hopefully Low will realize that while being tall and relying on set pieces may get you far against 2nd tier teams, it isn't enough to consistently beat the likes of Brasil, Argentina, or even Italy.

hey, hey, then the EC, which was a great tourney, would've lasted at least 30 minutes longer. but now, no more soccer for the next few weeks... :(

Congratulations to Spain.
Deserved win. Outpassed and outsmarted Germany today.
The first 12 minutes spain were nervous and Germany were clearly on top. After that they settled and the game was even for the rest of the half with spain getting on top after the goal.
In the second half spain kept their composure and kept the ball. Germany's passing was off and there was no movement.
