not provoke in the english sense, though provocation, and "c'est de la provoc" definitely has that connotation. provoquer can simply mean to cause... whereas causer as a verb means talk. "tu causes, tu causes..." is a way of saying "you're full of hot air".

the idiomatic translation of the P-H's expression is "you make your own luck."
