It looks as if our man Sylvain is about to sign a new deal, if Arsenal get the money right.

I know Wiltord is a whipping boy for many, but I sincerely think this is a move that needs to be made. They needed to get Viera and Pires signed first (in that order), but I think Wiltord has shown in the first 4 games that he can be a force, especially when he is partnered with Henry on a regular basis.

I agree, he is top notch player that can play multiple positions. We are better if he is here rather then somewhere else.

Wiltord is reported as saying that "If the Club make me feel as if I am wanted, then I am happy to stay. I need to have a clear head, and I like being in London".
No mention of money in his quote, although I am sure that it is a significant factor.
My personal feelings are that he wouldn't be as happy at Bayern Munich, Monaco or anyone else who might consider putting in a bid. Suffice to say that it won't be a club bigger than Arsenal. (If there is such a thing!!).

The best reason to agree a new contract is to stop him walking away on a Boesman in January!

After his goal against Man City the commentator mentioned how he seems to score most of his goals at the start of the campaign and that he hasn't scored 10 premiership goals in any season since we signed him (not sure if that's right or not?)!

Bottomline; with a lack of new blood we need his squad contribution more this year than last. Right now he's doing it for us and for France. I still think he's squad rather than 1st string, but I hope he continues to prove me wrong all the way to the Champions League or the EPL title or both!

Come on you Gunners!!!
