I made a post like that because blaming the refs seems to be in vogue whenever Italy crashes out of a tournament. Like I said, they put a Saudi-Arabian Brazil fan-boy in charge of the Brazil-Belgium game, who red-carded two of our players for no reason whatsoever and we didn't blame our loss on that. You're always going to get a crap ref at one of the games at any tournament. Turning it into some sort of conspiracy makes you look like a fool.
O.k we didn't play great. But
Your first goal never crossed the line.
Rossi's goal was not offside.
Rossi was brought down and was that was a clear p>k
and shouldn't have been a yellow.
there were clear 3 P.k s, but only 2 were awarded...............................
I think Abate foul could have been a P.k.......
Giovinco was played crap and Vivano is a Moron, he was sleep for the 3rd goal , and then got himself carded........................
Aregentine Ref @ WC 2006 gave a Freebie P.k too..........................

all the italians, all of them, did listen but only a small percentage knows english enough to understand. :p
That dembele guy looks good. i liked him.
p.s. You got it a bit wrong BG, Matteo is not the president of the italian republic nor is he invested to speak on behalf of all the almost 60 million italians.
p.p.s. Matteo per favore dirigi la frustrazione altrove che i devoti odiatori non aspettano altro. tanto mica li convinci. e cmq se abbiamo perso è soprattutto perchè qualche giocatore ha cagato fuori. viviano in primis.
Sure, I'm only speaking for myself.

Right. Add to that that Italians, especially Inzaghi!, are the worst fallers (? fakers?) in the world. Oh, and don't forget Catenaccio! Who can stand those Italians always playing for a 0-0?
The difference is, you got a wrong referee in the group stage, we in the worst possible game (quarterfinals are the most decisive match for every team sport at the Olympics: you lose and you are a failure; you win and you are a probable medalist). I wish both Brazil - Belgium AND Italy - Belgium were refereed well. And you?

DISAGREE: First goal evidently crossed the line/
AGGRE: Rossi goal was not offside
Rossi should have been a penalty
But:
Italy did get 2 PK's.
This is a clear cut case of bad loser's fever.

Ball didn't cross the line for Beligiums' first goal.

So we lost the game, I didn't watch it because I rather sleep, but I'm picking up the officiating was terrible. Well, it's no surprise really. These refs have to be the bottom of the barrel. Are they even FIFA licensed? lol
Either way, I think we should have done better defensively, although I didn't see what happen, after being up a goal and up a man. Oh well, it's just a kids tourney anyways. :D

Truthfully: On gameplay do you really believe Italy deserved to win?
An even better question: What happen to technology in the World of Football? When will the various federations finally take a stand against "bad calls" or "non-calls"? Goal line technology doesn't consume any time, but that excuse of "breaking the flow" of the game is ridiculous as it is when refs continuously stop games with bad calls 50% of the time.

Belgium played better than Italy with a man down for most of the game.

But the reality is that Baldassi and his crew share a lot of blame. They made two wrong decisions that affected the outcome of the match.
1. That ball never crossed fully over the goal line. Watch the location of the feet of the Italian player he is off the filed of play, but within inches of the goal line. Even if he struck the ball off the field of play the whole of the ball in it's entirety must cross over the goal line. Bad call. The game would have remained 1-0. Momentum may not have swung back to Belgium.
2. The missed penalty call. The Italian player was tripped in the penalty area. Clear penalty the referee missed and that resulted in a caution for simulation to the Italian. If the PK was called and converted it would have been 2-0 to Italy. That is quite a hole to come back from. Just ask the USA.
Fifa apparently doesn't care
******** FIFA. It's truly ridiculous the power that they hold over national federations.

IMO it's far more fruitful to focus on our faults rather than to focus on referee's mistakes that were there but weren't the main reason behind our failure.
And casiraghi and his incapacity to adapt tactics to the opponent and the given situations has to share a good part of the blame.
We conceded at least 1 unacceptable goal. unacceptable if you're italy I mean.
Let's just congratulate belgium and move on.
our u21 is still in the middle of a succesful qualifying campaign and from now on our attack will have also balotelli (alongside acquafresca, osvaldo, rossi and giovinco) as an option.

Belgium clearly paid the ref and thus undeservingly advance (their first goal was invented by the linesman as the ball clearly didn't cross the line, perfectly legitimate Rossi goal denied to us for nonexistent offside, clear penalty kick denied).
We played like shit, especially in defense against their counterattacks.

I just watched the replay of the game. Belgium play pretty dirty, especially when beat. We basically didn't show up, that last goal was embarrassing. I'll congratulate a team that deserves to win, and wins the right way. Anyways, aguante ARGENTINA!
