Yes, we paid the ref. Because that's the only way you can beat Italy at an international tournament, by paying the ref. You cannot possibly beat them fairly. Can't be done.

Sure, this Italy is even too easy to beat fairly, I fear.

But you DIDN'T beat them fairly.

That first goal was legit, ball crossed the line as you can see in a sideways replay. Stupid move by the Italian to stand in the goal instead of standing on the line

Whatever dude. We got screwed over by the ref in our first group game against Brazil as well, two players sent off for non-challenges. I've read nonsense like this every time an Italian team has bowed out of a tournament ever since WC '02.

We scored all our goals from open play, the Italians got awarded two penalties, yet we are the ones who "bought" the ref? IMHO, the only mistake that the ref made was that he could have given the Italians a third penalty. That's it.

Those penalties were all blatant, plus we had another one which was denied for no reason, and we scored form open play but the goal was disallowed for no reason (Acquafresca wasn't offside as he was given the ball by a Belgian midfielder). Then when Viviano got sent off Mirallas should have been sent off too (he smashed the ball on Viviano's face).

Surely the only way the current Belgian (btw, I thought your country dismantled) side can.

There was nothing Italy could do today....we would have still lost.

The South Korea comparison is indeed very appropriate.....legitimate goals disallowed, blatant penalties denied, questionable cards given (Rossi's yellow), clear cards not given (Mirallas' red)....today there was a new addition...the made-up goal.

Well ********ing done.

Belgium played their game, no need to accuse them of some referee's decisions. There were 4 clear pks for italy and the referee gave us 2. It happens, more often than not. It's not Belgium's fault.

we did draw the game in time to turn the game in our favour only to waste all the work done with a very bad goalkeeping. That 3d goal should never went in.
And the reason why viviano reacted that way and was then sent off is he realized he made a bad mistake that costed us dearly.

We were probably the most positive side in the game but Belgium played their game, with the tactics more fit to their strenghts and won.

Congratulations to Belgium. we will be luckier next time.

The antiItalian conspiracy attacks again!!!

Deal with it Italy... you lost... not all decisions go your way, but I remember what one Italian fan told me last WC: Luck is always on the side of the better team.

Of course that was when an Italian fan was explaining me why Italy deserved to win... I believe it was Mattteo.

Today it wasn't a matter of luck....it was a matter of robbery and theft.

Nobody is talking about "anti-Italian conspiracy" (even if today Italy got shafted by refs in two sports, not just in football :D).

I heavily doubt I said anything like that.

Please Belgian guy. We have complained twice, in 2002 and today. Not so much if you compare how many competitions we have been in. Sure Belgium doesn't complain so much - as it doesn't play so much in big competitions..!

Anyway, good luck for the next matches and in the next UEFA/FIFA qualifiers. A team so willing to invest on young players must be admired.

Maruti, we lost, and we deserved to exit perhaps. But still, if you watched the game, you know what Mattteo is talking about.

I'd be curious about that "luck on the side of the better team" too. That IS true, but doesn't apply to bad refereeing, does it?

And I mentioned South Korea only after he brought WC 02 into this thread...I don't know why he made a post like that....probably didn't know what to say.

I made a post like that because blaming the refs seems to be in vogue whenever Italy crashes out of a tournament. Like I said, they put a Saudi-Arabian Brazil fan-boy in charge of the Brazil-Belgium game, who red-carded two of our players for no reason whatsoever and we didn't blame our loss on that. You're always going to get a crap ref at one of the games at any tournament. Turning it into some sort of conspiracy makes you look like a fool.

all the italians, all of them, did listen but only a small percentage knows english enough to understand. :p

That dembele guy looks good. i liked him.

p.s. You got it a bit wrong BG, Matteo is not the president of the italian republic nor is he invested to speak on behalf of all the almost 60 million italians.

p.p.s. Matteo per favore dirigi la frustrazione altrove che i devoti odiatori non aspettano altro. tanto mica li convinci. e cmq se abbiamo perso è soprattutto perchè qualche giocatore ha cagato fuori. viviano in primis.
