Wow, made a lot of quality signings. Van Der Vaart leads the league through 10 matches with 11 goals. We are laboring around 11th though. Milevsky from Kiev, Simpson on a free, Jo from City, Mancheinne (sp?) from Chelsea and a couple of youngsters at really good prices. Slashing the wage bill so much gave me a lot of funds in regards to transfers. Ashley out is such a superb thing too, I think Ished a tear when it happened.
Best part about it all was the supporters were pissed I let Geremi and Butt on a free. Psh, give me a break.
Then I sold Ameobi for 4.2 million to Ipswich. Can you believe they paid that for him? And I kid you not, the supporters said it was an aberration after his recent performances and loyalty to the club. Aberration. Aberration. Aberration. Oh, I've used that word before with Ameobi but not in that context I'll tell you that. It's as if they would campaign against abortion with the slogan "What if Ameobi was aborted like?" Oh my.

Hahaha, that is a tremendous post.
I'm hoping to get Ashley out soon. Ameobi has 7 goals in 4 games, while Loven is struggling. Ranger and Carroll have both played well, so they might challenge him for the starting job. Should be a relatively easy year getting them back up.

See I brought in Macheda and a trialist named Willy Topp. Loaned Benjani, who got about 10 games before I terminated his loan. But Ameobi didn't even get that many appearances. Which is why it really shocked me when they were so pissed. Loven sucks. He is still on my squad but I hardly ever use him, in fact I think he only has one start so far and that was in the CC 2nd round.
What has really screwed me this season is red cards. I don't think I had a single straight red card in the Championship the entire season. Then in 11 I get 3, Guthrie, Barton and Smith all with stupid ass tackles (just like real life eh?). All of them were early in the match, one 18 minutes in, one 40, one 46. 1 point from those 3 matches and all of them were still really close.

I hit a rough patch, so I switched my formation up a bit.
----Ameobi---------------------
-------------Vuckic-------------
---------------------------------
---------Wilshere--------------
----Nolan----------Guthrie----
----------Smith----------------
--------------------------------
Enrique---------------Simpson
--------Taylor-----Colo--------
Bought Lucas Neill for whatever reason. I'm trying to sell Loven and Raylor to get some mroe money, possibly have Montero coming in. If not then it'll be this Spanish attacking mid, Tote. Vuckic's on a tear for me right now, if/when he slows down Nolan will probably move to forward with Barton back at CM.

I just got started and because my in-laws are in town, I haven't had much time to play. Jonas and McLoven have a few goals for me and I picked up James Vaughn from Everton on season long loans. He is tearing it up.
Shola/Carroll - Vaughn
McLoven - Barton - Nolan - Jonas
Jose - Colo - STaylor - RTaylor

I am 2nd in the league and beat Fulham and Man City in the Carling Cup. A consortium want to buy Newcastle and replace me with Alan Curbishley so I could be super pissed really soon.

I had someone buy us and want to put Shearer in. He decided to give me a chance, and I still have my job, for now. It was insecure for a bit, but I got us back up to second in the league.

When you just start out, summer of 09, pick up Jorge Andrade. He is available on a free, and has been a lock down defender for me so far.

I took a little break but I may get back to it tonight. Started off my 3rd season pretty strongly, and have signed some big names. Gourcoff and Zapata, Urby Emaneulson from Ajax in on a free, Trezeguet in on a free (who is now injured for 3 months after scoring a bunch in the Uefa cup)
Won the FA Cup at the end of last year, beat Liverpool away, Bolton away, City in the semis and West Ham in the finals after Steven Taylor being sent off in the 1st minute. 5-3 in OT, simply absurd game. Team will need some time to get going but I think we are going to be solid. Also brought in Gallas on a free.

Jesus Christ. I'm not expecting such a quick turnaround in my game. I don't think the new owner actually has a lot of money.
Just won the league, so checking out this guy Shameus recommended earlier.

I've got Simon Tahar as the new owner and he seems to have some cash because he started developing the academy, training ground, and stadium without me saying anything. Still no transfer funds though.
Got screwed in the Carling Cup Qtr Finals against Everton. I had already beaten Fulham and Man City but the official gives 5 yellows to my team, sending STaylor off.

My owner did the same thing, besides the stadium. Now I'm in the offseason, I can barely sign any free's because of the wage budget, not sure what will happen with the transfer budget yet.
Signed Danny Simpson full time, along with Jay DeMerit. Thought I was getting Lansbury for free, but I guess I have to pay Arsenal 3 mil.

I guess I'm pretty lucky as far as the chairman. I cut my wage bill almost immediately and sold almost all the players from the original squad. I'm still laboring around mid table, the team isn't far off from the top four but there is no consistency yet. I think I may have brought in too many names in the off-season and there is that period of gelling.

I just got approached for the Manchester United job (they finished 5th having lost to Villa at home on the last day of the season) and I said ******** off bitches.
7th after the 3rd season, not too shabby. Semi-final of the Euro Cup and lost to Man United on aggregate. It was 3-2 them with 15 minutes to go and Steven Taylor got sent off, otherwise I am confident we would have at least brought it to extra time.

Ended up getting around 500k from my Chairman for transfers, but halfway through he gave me 15mil. Signed the three mentioned above, DeMerit, Simpson, and Lansbury.
Then spent the money on James McFadden and Jo'. Both have been great, especially Jo'. Almost got Roque Satna Cruz, but by the time I found out he was being offered for only 4mil he was already on loan to Fulham. Beat Liverpool on opening day, 1-0, and Man Utd 3-2 on late late Jo' goal. sitting at third in the league in mid-October.

Nice, I'm sitting in 2nd, 4 points back of City with 6 matches to play. I am pretty much guaranteed 2nd though, way clear of Liverpool in 3rd. Manure, who I turned down, are 6th :D
I will post more tomorrow, but I am going to try to finish this season tonight. Also in the FA cup semi against City. Great season though. Monnet, who I bought last year in Jan has been a revelation. Leader of the charts in MOM and goals scored.

Damnit. City beat me 2-1 in extra time in the FA cup semi-final, although they fully deserved it. Then they go and beat Villa away with 5 matches remaining 4-0 to open a 4 point lead. It's not fully over, but I still got Arsenal away and they have 3 matches at home. Their only away match is the 2nd to last against the good guys (Newcastle of course) but I got a feeling it may be clinched by then. I'm done for the night, hopefully can finish it tomorrow night. I know I should be happy in the 4th season to be finishing 2nd and heading to the Champions League, but winning nothing this season is a bitter pill to swallow. I'm not sure with the added European competition that I have enough depth to make challenges on all fronts, but my chairman has been providing 50$ mil every off season :D
