I don't have much time for video games. But I just picked up UFC 2009 Undisputed and played the crap out of it for the first week. It's awesome. And there's a lot of replayability. I've always played the FIFA soccer games. The last one I had was FIFA '08. But I haven't played it that much. I was disappointed that they took a lot of the management/career mode features away. But apparently they put some back in '09.
Oh, and those are all on PS3.

I tried starting a game unemployed, took me till about October to get hired. I was hired by Darlington in League 2. It took me four seasons, but I made it all the way to the championship. I took a lot of players on loan over the season and leaned heavily on my knowledge of Newcastle. I took Donaldson, Ranger, Doninger, and Forester all on loan. I also took a couple of Liverpool and Man U players on loan. I have to say that playing at the lower levels, I found that tactics and formation can make up for a lack of skill a lot. When I got to the Championship though, I had some difficulties. It seems that around the Champoinship is where skill starts to have a bigger impact on the game then simple tactics. I was burned out playing in the bigger leagues so I took a chance and actually enjoyed playing in the lower leagues. It definitly challenges your tactical knowledge and scouting skills, but I would recommend trying it.

Starting unemployed is always a great way to to go.
I usually find myself in leagues that I otherwise would have never thought of playing in.
Anyways, I'm searching for a new challenge. I've just spent five seasons in MLS at New York where I won 4 MLS Cups and 1 CONCACAF CHAMPIONS League....got boring winning every game.
Any suggestions?

Wait, this is supposed to be a realistic simulation game? Right?

Hoosier, did you ever get to another league doing that? No matter how many things I've won in MLS the only job offer I got above was USMNT and that only came once. I basically gave up managing in the MLS since it really wasn't all that exciting in the game. I'm really looking forward to the new one to bring Newcastle back to glory... :-/

Colin,
The last MLS career I started, while loading a ton of other leagues, my path went as follows:
LA Galaxy
Hammarby (Sweden)
Bologna (Italy)
QPR (England)
Aston Villa (England)
Man United (England)
It was one of my favorite games ever, but after about 14 seasons.....and regens running the show I started to get bored and started over.
I'm going to start a new game today......not sure which direction to go yet.
By the way, Google (FM Weegie Update). It's a group of guys that updates the database about every month, it's a great download. I've already blasted through the Championship and brought Newcastle back to the EPL.

I got Gillingham about as far as I think they can go, 8th in League One, and Houston came calling. Being as I want to be the USMNT manager on this career track I took the job. Here's hoping it gets me noticed for the 2018 WC cycle.

Is there a 2010 version coming out? I haven't heard anything about it.

Yep, it's scheduled for release on October 30th here in the UK (according to Amazon). Not too sure what the USA release date is though, and I havent came across a product description, telling us of new features etc yet.

I got the Santana job in mid-March. We were already pretty low in the relegation table, all I could manage was a win and two draws. Luckily the owers weren't basing anything on this season. Now I'm not sure where we go from here, looks like the third division, which is the fourth level. Already made a few signings though, and cleared up my wage bill for them.

Hmmm... looks like they dumbed it down a lot. Good! Maybe I'll actually play it this time. The older versions I tried out felt too much like work.

I just started a new game with AC Milan.
And I know what you're saying...."how is that a challenge?"
Seeing as they've got a ridiculous number of older players, I've made it my business to get the teams average age under 24 within two seasons.
My next goal will be to have the teams estimated value over $1 Billion.

I don't start playing until it gets nasty outside anyway, I spend too much time on the game if I get it going. I am looking forward to getting us out of the Championship though.

I've managed to get Newcastle back in the EPL on the first try and been a middle of the table team for my first two seasons.
Apart from my brilliant business sense (Landon Donovan purchased for $5 million/sold for $23 million; Freddy Adu purchased for $7 million/sold for $24 million) the club has managed to be taken over by a fan based consortium. The 2011 season has just begun and St. James park has expanded by 16,000 seats.
The monthly profit is very healthy these days!

I am currently attempting the same feat. During the January window I was able to sell Enrique to Spurs for 5 million pounds and Bassong back. I was also able to sell Alan Smith to Spurs again for 9 million pounds, to good a deal not to take.

Hell yeah, got 2010. Brought in a number of players on loan and a few free signings.
Won 2-0 at West Brom to start the season and 5-2 at home to Reading. Benjani has scored a couple of sweet goals on loan.

Also doing well in my 10 game. Took down West Brom 3-1. Brought in Wilshere and another Arsenal youth at CB on loan. Also signed a CB on a free, forgot his name though.
