rep 4 u sir!
That's a nice thougt. Also it lends more credence to my theory that Germany
is the Raiders of internation soccer. Oakland says "Just Win Baby". Germany says "all we do is win when it matters most". Also the vertical offense game combined with solid defense. The Heidi game / blackout in the alps game is the final piece!

Awesome match (at least for me). I dont have to say I now hold respect of the turkish team cause I always did. Germany may have embarassed itself but we never said they are world-warriors.
TURKEY AWESOME MATCH AND ALL MY DAMN RESPECT. We should feel lucky to have so many of you in our country. You kick ass!

Kudos to Turkey for an amazing tournament.
The Turkish league is going to lose a lot of players to the EPL, La Liga, Ligue Un, Serie A, Bundesliga, etc, after the way their players performed.

And it was conveniently decided to place the worldwide transmission in Basel, instead of near the stadium. Weather forecasts there were set for a couple of days now. It would be pretty easy to blame the weather for any transmission "problems" used to hide whatever fix might have happened at the game. ;)

Wouldn't underestimate the Russians, this game will be very different than the fist game they played.
Spain, Russia, must be a bit neck in neck here, I think Spain has a good chance but along with Germany and Turkey, these teams must be close in quality.
Turkey got those yellows and knocked Croatia out.
It's really a surprise team like Turkey, why I enjoy these tournaments, no connection to them at all.

Germany will probably get crushed in the finals, they are notorious finals chokers. Spain 82, Mexico 86, Korea/Japan 02. Sweden 92, Yugos 76.

Turkey is usually great to watch.
If the final is a Germany-Spain match, it may be the usual dull proceedings.

Are you seriously trying to blame ESPN for power problems in Switzerland?
Wow, now I've heard EVERYTHING.
Not even slightly. I'm only blaming them for not having their announcers on-site. Had they been in the stadium, we could have at least had oral PBP during the blackouts.

I also tend to root for the underdog when my team gets eliminated, at this point the Russians have to be the underdogs amongst the remaining teams. Really no big name players, just a collective group of guys who are very well coached.

Switzerland '54, Belgium '72, Germany '74, Italy '80, Italy '90, England '96?
They've won more finals than they've lost.

It was more than that, we missed Klose goal, the turkey equliaser, barely caught Lahm scoring, and then diddnt see the rest, on top of the earlier outage.
