Germany Crush Turkey

Spain/Russia Crush Germany

Equals perfect Euro 2008:cool:

Despite where I live, who I support in club football, and the fact I picked the Germans to win it before this thing started, I can't say that scenario would make me unhappy at all.

Would be nice to have a "new" winner........

If you want a new winner, you should be pulling for Turkey. The other three have had the pleasure before.

Yes, but I can't recall their winning. I can recall two of Germany's three.

Would be nice to hear all the shit talked about Spain to stop and would love to see how all the people who say that Russian football's resurgence is all about money (I think it only partially is) explain this one.

I think Turkey will sit back and crowd the box making difficult for Germany to Score. They will be playing for a penalty shoot out. I think this game will be like Germany -Argentina Final in the world cup a few years ago (1990 I think) which Germany won on a Breme Penalty

I am definitely pulling for Germany, but it's a win-win situation at this point. Ultimately, I'm a neutral, so seeing an underdog like Turkey or Russia take it would be cool, but I do like the Spanish team as well. I'm not going to be totally displeased no matter which of these four wins it.

Germany should beat the Turks just based on how many guys they will be missing.

I can see that happening too.

That is exactly how I feel right now. I wind up pulling for Germany too, but I'm never completely heartbroken when they lose.

Mainly because I know it won't be long before they're on top again.....

Conventionally thinking, that's understandable. However, no conventionally thinking person could have foresaw what the Turks pulled against the Czechs and the Croatians either..... ;)

I'm rooting for Russia to win it all. Chris Pontius desrcibed the Russian spirit perfectly, they're stern, stern but fair.

Turkish team never plays for penalty shoot outs.. we play to win ..but ofcourse if we are down , our first aim will be equalizing it which may take us to penalty shoot outs ! if we have enough time we will play to score more ! as we did against czechs ! turkey never can play a defensive football because we never had a good defense ! if we had a good defense we would have a few international cups already : )

Exacto. Teams like Italy and Portugal make me prefer rugby to football.

Agreed, the Turkish soccer mentality is attack and attack creatively as we have tremendous midfielders that double up as scorers in ahurry. You have not seen their best play yet. They will bring that to the Germany game. Tuincay and Arda are huge losses, but the Turks are not crying or hiding behind that. Gokdeniz, Ugur and Ayhan are totally capable of creating fits for the Germans.
Everyone thinks this will be a cakewalk for the Germans...everyone but the German team ! They know what they are up against. I predict a 2-1 score for Turkiye.
And by the way, I expect no problems in after game celebrations. The Turkish Germans living in Turkey love and respect their "second" country as well. They will voicefully support the Germans in the final (in case Germany goes thru)--of course most of them would want Turkiye to be the victors first.
May the best team win....Go Turkiye!;)

Teams like Italy and Portugal remind me of richard simmons:(

anyway I think the germans will make the break through in the first half, as the turks become more desperate the Germans will unleash a blitzkrieg.

Minimum 3-1 Germany but could be 6

By the way, I was responding to Besiktas fan's comments and also meant Turkish/Germans living in Germany, not in Turkiye! Although quite a few in Turklye also think dearly of Germany.;);)

I think Turkey will stay in it: after all, even the version of Turkey that comes out should be stronger than Austria who Germany struggled with.

True to form, the germans (hey, if someone is going to toss around words like "blitzkrieg" and not capitalise turks) are only in there with the difference of a goal that should not have counted at all, the push by Ballack and the ball he heads in.

Dont misinterpret the game with Austria. This match had a certain political gravitity and cultural relevance. It dont mean that we dont get along with each other, hell no. But in sports that is like competing with your brother. A match that shouldnt be considered as a benchmark, neither for the German nor for the Austrian team. Too much symbolism paralysed the german team.

My biggest concern is the police at the public viewings in all big towns...hopefully there will be enough, otherwise weŽll have a "civil war" in Germany! No matter which team wins, this is really worrying me!

I live in Berlin and I dont expect anything serious to happen. The media of course will try to get what they can but except a few minority complex teens there wont be any problems.
