Light Green Referee Uniform

I've seen the light green Adidas (?) referee uniform that is used in international matches being used in some tournaments in the USA (seen it in tournament pics)

In the uniform really used? If so, in which level of play or which tournaments?

BTW, I think it's just cool :cool:

The light green is a new official color. I believe it was added to the uniform choices this past year. IIRC, it was first debuted in the MLS championship last year. It hasn't been that popular in Michigan (where I ref). I only know a few refs who purchased the color and this past weekend I was talking to one of them who had yet to find a whole team that had them (even up to the PDL level). Aside from the expense of another shirt set (long & short), I've heard a couple comments that ARs who are in green are hard to spot against other green backgrounds (esp trees) that are often found surrounding our soccer complexes in Michigan.

It was rather popular at the Far West Regionals in Hawaii last week. One crew even pulled out the long sleve Green (why, don't ask!). I don't know if other vendors have started making the new stripe design yet. The kit I have are from OSI... along along with the new mid-stripe sox with the stupid toe inscription (Says 'US SOCCER REFEREE)!

So, Wed. night I got a call to fill in on a crew (AR2) for a Div 1 Mens game. I have been out injured for a few months so I was excited to get back on the pitch. I meet my crew mates and we check out the teams, one team is in yellow, and the CR & AR1 reach into their bags and pull out THE GREEN JERSEY!!! I told them I had everything else but!! They sighed,, gave me a pitiful look, and we switched to blue. !!

Did the same thing today...my CR was very understanding about no green...and cheap blue lol....

On that day? Heck no, but that's what you get when ref with guys from like Cali and Arizona who don't mind the heat.
