I had to put Nott For in my pick of 5 for one reason. What an achievement for a reasonably small club to do what it did when there were so many bigger clubs at the time.

Nottingham Forest by a mile. For those not following English football you wouldn't realise how much of a small club they were, Old Big 'Ead took over and bang, double Europeam Champions!

How could you miss out the 74,75,76 Bayern team?

The omission of the '74 Bayern side is a massive oversight.

Bayern not being on that list is a massive mistake.

I have to agree with the last three posts.
After checking and then double checking your list the Bayern teams from 74 to 76 have got to be there.

I voted for Real Madrid but defintitely would have voted for that 74-75-76 Bayern side if there. Real would have been second, 1973 Ajax 3rd, 1989 Milan 4th.

As far as extended runs go, Liverpool also won in 1981 and 1984. I think the 1977-1985 Liverpool team was the best over an extended period.

Whilst I would not consider them to be a great on the European side of competition the Rangers squad of the 90's rates a mention for the fact that it won something like 9 or 10 league titles in a row as well as several Scottish league and SFA cups.

Didnt set the world on fire in Europe but not many clubs can boast such a domestic feat. Marseilles and recently Lyon won several consecutive titles but cant think of any clubs that have won as much on a domestic level as Rangers.

Would not argue that.

Still remember Mark Hately's goal against Leeds in the Euro Cup.

lol there are many teams outside of Scotland that could have won that league 9-10 (hell even more) times in a row. They should definitely not get a mention for winning a poor league every year while other teams actually have more than 1 average competitor

That may be true, however but the fact remains that they are still domestically one of the most successful teams in Europe. Further to this if they were far and beyond the best team in a poor league then they would have won every game of the season easily. I still recall them losing matches to teams like Aberdeen, Motherwell are Airdrie as well as Celtic.

There are many other leagues that are mostly a 2 horse race as well (Holland: PSV & Ajax for example).
