I'd think there have to be changes at halftime for van Basten. They had little to nothing coming through their midfield.
Highly impressive 45 minutes by the Russians. However, they didn't convert dominance into a goal -- so that and a ruble won't even get you a caviar billini.

What a pleasure it is to see two attacking teams playing, no?

Russia have been very, very impressive so far. Holland are a shadow of the team that thrashed the likes of France and Italy. This game could go either way.

Mother Russia is just 45 minutes away (perhaps with an extra 30) from peeling the oranges...

True but I would hardly characterize the Dutch as attacking this game so far. The announcer at half time identified it best - "The Dutch have produced nothing from open play." I am not knocking them because they have looked dangerous from set pieces and from mistakes in clearing by the Russian defense, but they have created little from their own development.
We all know the Dutch are capable of much, much more so hopefully they make some sparking changes at half or soon within the second half.
Very impressed with the Russians; they look very good. Though some errors in the back are evidence and could become costly if the wholes are not closed.

Netherlands ability to bring on Van Persie and Robben with fresh legs in the second half is a pretty darn nice pair to have as subs in a 0-0 match.

And on comes Van Persie. Such a great playmaker, hard to believe he's a sub.

Van Persie gets a yellow.
Nice dive by the Russian. Effing actors peeve me off so much it's not even funny.

And Van Persie promptly earns a yellow, and the Russians nearly scored on the ensuing free kick.

Given the circumstances, I don't think anything could ever equal what Denmark accomplished.

Are you mad?
Hahhah Great goal.... great playing by the Russians. I'd love to see how the Dutch respond to being down 1-0 - never happened yet.
