Holland were absolutely dreadful today. They didn't show up at all. RVN equalizer only extended their misery. I knew the duth would be found out but thought it would happen in the semis. Russia look really good but have been wastefull in front of goal. Watch out for the Russians in 2010.

Because it is the Dutch. They do this almost every time. A bad defense will eventually be exposed, but it will always happen.

Russia's defense is not exactly a rock either.

truly disapointing. as a neutral fan, I wanted to see Holland continue...

truly disapointing..

As a neutral, I thought the Russians out-Dutched the Netherlands.

They played more like Clockwork Orange than the Dutch did.

Who is really surprised? After Russia dispatched the Swedes that easily, I said, "These guys are going to beat the Dutch." Why? Because it is the Dutch. They do this almost every time. A bad defense will eventually be exposed, but it will always happen.

Man, I got the same feeling...The way they play is like Mexico but with lots of speed. They almost always control the tempo of play, killing off any opponent's momentum. I expected an upset and they did...

Same here. If Spain lose, you watch, the freaking Italians are gonna win it.

Exactly what I'm afraid of

Exactly what I'm hoping for.

I think a Germany v Italy final would be fantastic.

There is no other way to describe this game:

Russia completely ran them off the park. I feel bad for my Dutch friends, but Russia deserved this one. Congrats Russia, they best offensive football I've seen this whole tournament.

The next Maradona is Russian.
Who knew?

I have never seen a performance equal to Arshavin's today.
Not even from Zidane.
Agreed. What a player! He's the one taking Russia to the finals.

Looks like a Germany-Italy final becomes more and more possible every passing game.

I honestly have to question how good of a side Holland is as well as Van Bastin as a manager.

Many people were giving them a lot of hype however we have seen this from the Dutch many times in the past, look great in the group phase and give a complete 180 in the knockout round where the contenders are seperated from the pretenders.

Also, enough of praising Van Bastin as a manager, I question him in 2006 against Portugal, they looked mediocre in the qualfying round and now this. Enough of the hype, he is not as good of a manager as some hype him up to be, in fact I think he is bad however he still has a long way to go before I give him any kudos.

Russia are through and we are forced to see Gus Hiddink's man tits at the Euro again.

Very enjoyable match to watch due to the tension, rather than the quality of play.

By the last 15 minutes of regulation time, I was rooting for Russia. It would have been terrible had the game gone to pk's and the Dutch gone through.

We were very lucky to have Genius Guus back in 2002.

The Russians were fantastic, but they still wasted many chances in front of the goal as they have done in every match so far.

Guus still has work to do.

Not only that, but a team like Germany could score half a dozen from set pieces if they defend like that against them.

I must admit I wanted Holland to advance into the semis. But russia clearly mastered this game and I always knew that Holland is unpredictable. You can never be certain about their daily condition and mood.

But isnt this a somehow a law by now. Holland starts great, and the day they are considered to win it all they fail. Sad

yea, but at least Dunga was never given much praise not even when he beat Argentina in the CA which they(Argentina) were taking "very seriously".

I don't think the overall quality is as high as 2000, but it's been more dramatic and enjoyable.
Yeah, I would agree with that. :)
