Jeremy, how can you call him a good referee when he makes an incorrect call and then reverses that call because of another incorrect call? He screwed up and his screw up was then reversed by a screw up by his linesman.
ultimately, he got the call right by not giving the player a card.
for the sake of the game, he did the right thing and got the right result.
seriously, there's a great game going on right now. let's enjoy it.

Because he's a good referee, one of the best in the world. Michel is the new Collina.
Yep. He will likely the get final of this tournament and would probably be the book favorite for the WC 2010 final.

It means Van Nistelrooy has a bad day, a bad day should not influence a referee's view on fouls, if the referee had screwed up once nothing was wrong, but he constantly is.

Really, quit bitching about the ref. It's getting old.

Correct. I mean, they wouldnt mind, there dead tired, but still see some good attacking football. Though at first, I thought otherwise as Russia was just knocking it around for the first few minutes. But even know they are cautious, we are seeing that they have purpose.

He did not do the right thing, he did 2 things wrong, that the result is the same as it would have been with the right call does not mean his actions were not crap.

Sweet jumping Jesus Christ, for a guy who doesn't want to claim that the ref would be the cause of the Dutch potentially losing, you sure do seem to want to blame the ref for the Dutch potentially losing.

It would have given the Russians a red card, which would be good for Holland, how am I blaming him for Holland losing?
Heck he just screwed up again by not giving Russia a penalty.

From the way the Russians are playing and the amount of possession they have outside of the Dutch box, it seems like they can score any min now.
If the Dutch can withstand the pressure, then I see it goin to PKs

I thought it was a penalty at first, but on replay... no.

Good no call on the PK. That was no penalty.

A lesser ref might have given that penalty because it really looked like one in real time, but in slow motion, it was clearly no PK.

Live I thought it was a penalty. Replay shows that it wasn't one.

Italian commentators with the replay are saying that there was the penalty...
