After we finish off Barbados Sunday
We have three Big Games at home
9/10/08 Toyota Park; Bridgeview, Ill
10/11/08 RFK Stadium; Washington DC
11/19/08 Dick's Sporting Good Park; Commerce City Colo.
We need to fill these Stadiums with US fans
We need to fill them with Passion, Noise, chants, Pride, Banners, Flag, and Red, White, and blue Color
We need the Home fans set up the pub crawls, tailgates, and march to the Stadium.
We can make this happen
We can be the 12 man

it should be noted that 2 of these 3 games are mid-week games.
Wednesday, 9/10/08 Toyota Park; Bridgeview, Ill
Saturday, 10/11/08 RFK Stadium; Washington DC
Wednesday, 11/19/08 Dick's Sporting Good Park; Commerce City Colo.
not pointing this out as an "excuse", just stating the reality of the situation.

Yeah, and the last one is a week before thanksgiving.
Oh well . . . we'll play with the cards we've been dealt!

In for:

Saturday, 10/11/08 RFK Stadium; Washington DC

Denver in November just isn't in the cards for me.
Looking forward to my first trip to Bridgeview. Though that will technically be my second as I'm going to hit the CHI-NY game the Saturday preceding the the Sept 10 game.

BTW, awful decisionmaking by the USSF. We should not be
a) playing Cuba on the East Coast
or
b) playing Guatamala in hispanic-friendly Denver.
I live in DC, btw, but the games should have been in Toyota Park vs Trinidad, DSG Park against Cuba, and Gillette against Guatamala.

IMHO ... IMHO ... IMHO ...
I'm not sure how much of this is in USSF's control other than playing in a different city. I think this b/c ...
* FIFA determined the home, away, matchdays, and opponents when it drew the region last November. For CONCACAF A1, it was A2, A4, A3, A4, A3, A2 ... regardless of which side (USA, MEX, or CRC) would have been plugged into A1 and won spot A1 ... or A2, etc.
* The USSF, drawn into CONCACAF A1, only looked for venues for the matches A1:A3, A1:A4, and A1:A2 on the dates that FIFA already determined.
* Availability plays some part in the venue selection. For example, if the rumors are correct, Dallas turned away a WCQ because Pizza Hut Park was not available for any of the three home matchdates. Never mind the Cotton Bowl. Stupid Dallas City Council.
* Venue condition (ie, no pointy-ball lines) probably comes into play in some way for autumn USA matches and stadium availability/condition.
* As we all know, the venues were selected before A2, A3, and A4 were known.
While anything can happen in soccer (NED:RUS), the USA should be strong enough to overcome these issues in the semi-final group. We may want to tailor things a bit better in the hex, but that's not for another year.

I am thinking about going to either DC or Denver. I am not a member of either Uncle sam's Army or the American Outlaws, but I have been interested in checking them out. I was wondering if htere will be ways of non-members getting into their section and roughly how much the tix would be?

There's always a way for non-members to get in. The benefit of being a member is a discounted ticket (usually $10 or so off), but even if you're not a member you can certaiinly stand with them.

Keyword is "stand" and might I add "sing and chant"!
I'm sure about this cycle, but sometimes the supporters section sells out. It is best to be a part of one of the groups to make sure you get the tickets. They usually go on sale before the general public sales so you can get tickets first.
Sometimes there is a special code that is entered on the ticket form and other times you get an email with the special presale ticket form.
For the small investment it is good to be part of one of the groups just to make sure you get the tickets in the section you want. Joining SA and/or AO is another discussion for another thread.

"coming soon" according to ussoccer.com
Sign up for http://www.ussoccer.com/fans/index.jsp and they'll email you updates and sometimes passwords for tix pre-sales!

going to Toyota Park and plan on tailgating, bringing at least a half-dozen friends who have varying interests in soccer, drinking, laughing, drinking, chanting, stomping and screaming myself hoarse. don't care that it's a mid-week game. i'm taking a few days off of work and going to enjoy this being in my backyard. just recently joined american outlaws so hopefully the ticket info will come shortly.
