Giving Ballack more room to play by bringing in another def midfielder turned out to be essential in that respect...

not to mention cover for Lahm and a platform for schweiny

funny how if you field a proper formation things work better :D

It's Euro 2000 all over again... Portgual are going to come back from two down to win 3-2 like they did vs. England... nuno Gomez scores.. deja vu!

Forza Portugal!

Meireles seems to be doing ok after that forced substitution. Any changes you guys would make?

Ronaldo alone dived more than all the portuguese team together...and might I say, that the czechs and turkish beated us at that...

Not even close. There's been more diving in this game than half of all the diving in the entire tourney.

WTF was that? Oh, did he step on him afterwards?

Yeah, he did step on his foot, so I won't judge him on that. But he seemed to be on his feet rather quickly and without any problems.

This referee has been consistent all tournament long. Consistently terrible.

It's now starting to rain in Basel, lets see how this quilt of a pitch holds up...

2 yellows in a minute for Germany.

The second one was slightly unlucky. It was a deserved yellow, but Lahm has been fouled before.

Boswinga has yet to make a decent cross.

Scolari should put in Quaresma for Simao.

Lahm needs a more defensively secure player in front of him now. Bosingwa is going to keep pushing forward.

I'd love to see this go to penalties... knowing these two teams efficiency, it's probably end up 13-12 or something like that.
