I say 3:1 for Ze Germans. It's about time for Klose to score, or at least have 2 or 3 more assists.

IMO tonight Portugal will disappoint a lot. I can't predict the final outcome, but I Think the Scolari's team won't play good football.

Well, it seems majority are backing Germany on this one. IMHO it can go both ways, my great concern is our GK & our defense at set pieces. Germany has taller players than us and we already suffered a goal from a similar team (Czech Republic) in a corner.
For our side, I think if we can control midfield, our flankers can wreck havok on that slow German defense (especialy because Lahm likes to go offensive so much), we had more days to prepare (don't really know if it will make a big difference) and our players look pretty confident.
I respect the German team very much (even when they are crap compared to their old teams) & hope history doesn't get in the heads of our players.

2-1 Portugal.

I'm really looking forward to this one. Germany are the obvious favorites here with history and depth of squad perhaps behind them. However, Portugal are playing well and could take this one. Portugal have proven, under Scolari that they can take out the big boys and handle the pressure... just ask England or Holland. As a neutral I will rroot for Portugal but may the best team win!
Ps: the Ronaldo v Ballack match up is going to be awesome to watch... two of my favorite players of the modern game.

The funny thing is that according to both coaches the fourth official did not understand english and they both tried to make clear they want to stand up to coach their teams but he always wanted them to sit down and not walk around in the Coaching Zone.
Accoridng to the UEFA, Hickersberger and Löw shouted at each other. It is obvious the fourth official did not udnerstand the situation at all. Hickersberger even went to the german coaching zone to make clear that if Löw has to leave he will leave to as an act of solidarity.
Well, outside non German speaking observers who listen to two people discussing things in German usually assumes they are yelling - and mad! :D
In reality, this is what went down,
Löw; "Did you try this café in Downtown, ach, what is this name?"
Hickersberger yells back at Löw, “Schottenring? This one?”
“Yes, ya this is the one, Schottenring.”
“Place is shit.” Gets agitated, “The waiters are lazy like my players..." shouts, "RUN! - and their linzertorte are like rocks, horrible, horrible”.
Looks back at the pitch “Cover, cover…what are you doing? Cover Podolski!”
“What? I cannot believe this. My experience, ya it was very nice…”
“Nein, nein, Café, Leopold, this is where you must go,” faces the match…”look at your boy Frings fouling at my guys…”
Shouts - “Torsten!!! Go left, go left…” turns back to Hickersberger “Ya, very well I will try this one…”
“Here, let me come over to you and give you the address.”
4th official intervenes as Hickersberger crosses the threshold!.

It's obvious that individually, Portugal has better players on most team positions.
They also have a few super-good subs while Germanys bench players are pretty average.
I mainly mean Nani, Quaresma and Miguel Veloso.
Germany is still throwing Odonkor and Neuville into games FFS.
The only point i'd give Germany an advantage in is the forwards, even though Gomez has sucked and Klose doesn't seem to score, a team that doesn't have a single better option than Nuno Gomes can't be that amazing.
Oh and i guess Frings and Ballack can match the Portuguese central midfield, except Frings might not be playing, which would really screw Germany over.

Put in Rolfes instead of Hitzlesberger and I´ll be happy with Blöds line up.
2-1 for us!

Germany are the obvious favorites here
Yeah, for sure...
Well, it seems majority are backing Germany on this one.
Well, somehow the Italians don't seem to like the Portuguese...;)

No.
Borowski would be the better solution with his experience. But "the Hammer" is ok, too...
Btw: It's nice to see some Germany fans here who don't post in the "Germany vs Portugal" thread from the Germany section. :-)

Oh the italians, they sure do hate us...not sure why? But in every forum on the internet the ones who bash us and our players seem to be italians. Do they see us as a future threat? I dunno. Why hate us? We have common culture and views, yet we are bullied by them..some people say its jealously others say its the portuguese but being portuguese myself I don't hate the italians, they have a good team and their food is great! But I'm hoping that one day when we win a major title we finally get some respect from these italians....lol
Why can't we all just get along..... lol
*Cough* FORCA PORTUGAL *Cough* :o

How many times must I tell this story or are you too young to remember, but here it goes again.
WHY ITALIANS HATE PORTUGUESE
This should be called why Italians hate GTA Portuguese because it only holds true in the Toronto area.
It all started in 1994 when Italy played Portugal in a playoff for WC94. Italy beat Portugal as usual.
During WC94 many Portuguese celebrated with Brazilians after every victory. Now this is fine but most of them used Portuguese flags in their celebrations.
Now at the time we just laughed at them (like we usually do) and didn't think much of it.
After Brazil won the final both Brazilians and Italians took to the streets and celebrated their accomplishments.
The Portuguese community took it upon themselves to taunt Italians for the WC loss with Portuguese flags as if they were the winners.
They still claim that they are connected but the Brazilians I know can't stand Portuguese.
It's got nothing to do with Portugal's accomplishments because they don't have any.
Until this day we hold a grudge for this . Now please don't let me tell this story again.

I remember reading this in somebody's sig: "A bad German team makes it to the finals, and a good German team wins the whole thing" (or something like that) said by Platini himself.
Germany will kick it into high gear against Portugal, and I agree that whoever wins this match will be one of the finalists.
