Its only a great game if you like Italy because you know the rabbit is coming out of the hat sooner or later.
Its been dire for the rest of us.
I hope you're right about that rabbit. :D

Unlike previous Italy teams, this one seems to lack the offensive spark to pull it out. This one's going to penalties, and Italy will win.

Zambro has been terrible. Whatever happened to Massimo Oddo?

This one will go to penalties and Italy will win. This IS Dodondi's plan.

Are you kidding? He's faded a little but he's made a few immense tackles.

IMHO, Portugal-Germany was the best game of the Euros so far, this has been the worst (or second worst, after the first 118 minutes of Croatia-Turkey).

Italy are usually as bad as Spain with penalties, only the 2006 WC didn't mess up.
I'm sure Roby Baggio wishes the Brazil game didn't go to penalties.

My bet: Italy wins this one and the next two in penalties and become champs.

I still can't believe Donadoni hasn't used his last substitution.

I think he does not want to risk anything....Toni is much taller than Del....

I don't see the "Fandel's incompetence has evened out" comment as being accurate.
By my count he's waved off two legitimate Spanish penalty shouts and has ignored a number of fouls committed by Italy at or around the box that would have immediately resulted in dangerous opportunities for the Spanish.
Of course, this is largely driven by the fact that the "questionable" calls against Italy have occured in midfield compared to the "questionable" calls for Spain occuring near the Italian box as the Italians have invited the pressure.
While Italy has largely been missing out on FKs from the midfield stripe, Spain has been missing out on PKs and FKs around the box.
I don't understand what Spain is doing here either, tbh, as they would have to be HEAVY underdogs in a shootout due to their pressure and Italy's experience in such a situation (their penalties in the '06 WC final might have been the best group of five I've ever seen).
