Turkey the most exciting team in this tournament? I do think so.
It sucks that they have a few players that can't play next game. Coming from a German supporter, I wish they could play those players, it would make the game more exciting.

For those of you questioning the time. The goal was scored at 121:01. There was minimum of 1 minute added time. Its one second.

Added time is completely arbitrary, its whatever the referee says it is. Which can be grossly unfair, but thats the rules
Exactly. The number posted is MINIMUM added time! The referee is not bound by that number.
Croatia was the better team over the course of the game, but I cant imagine a team being able to come back with their head on straight for the shootout after that finish.
They didn't convert that superiority into goals and in the end they paid for it. How many thousands of times have you seen that in this game??

Saved.
Turkey goes on to face Germany in the semi-final.
Wow, what an amazing game.
Yeah... and what an amazing sport.
From my house I can hear the clacsons of the turks car and the shouts "Turchia, Turchia!"... people go mad for football.
I still don't get how the ultra-majority of americans enjoy more watching a sport where all you see is a player with a bat who tries to hit a ball and than run to "conquist bases".

I hope Germany beats Turkey in the semis. I'm an Italy fan and I sure as hell wouldn't want them to play those scary turks.
Dudes just won't quit.
I dont see them as terribly scary. The Czech's gave it away, and that was just supreme good fortune on the bounce at the end against Croatia. Cinderella stories like this usually end badly and ugly.

Actually, from what I've seen recently, they've ended pretty successfully.
Especially in this tournament.

Yeah... and what an amazing sport.
Penalty kicks aren't a sport. If they were they'd have their own league and people would pay good money to watch them for 90 minutes.

Don't worry yourself, Italy isn't making the final anyway. ;)
I'm not counting out the Turks until I see them lose. This team knows how to survive and never quits. It could take one lucky goal against Germany to win.

I'm pretty sure he meant the entire match including the finish.
Were you waiting all night to make that remark???

Recber had a force field around him. I swear the Croats were intimidated by him.
Those two complete misses? Cmon now...I know nerves had a lot to do with it but Recber is as menacing as Turks come.
He was made to be a keeper.

Either way. Ive seen them blow the whistle early.

Quite true. The better team doesnt always win. My point is, I just don't see the sudden Turkey bandwagon forming. Its a lucky team. Its fun and exciting, but I dont see them beating the Germans

Try two nervous 22 year olds and a frustrated 26 year old.

I disagree, they are going to get bounced, and bounced hard.

Yeah... I mean, what sport can give you all that emotions in the last two minutes?
Maybe basket or volley, but after a bit they become as boring as hell.
Soccer the best :D
I disagree, they are going to get bounced, and bounced hard.
And who did you predict to win this game just played?

To quote the late Jack Buck, "I don't believe what I just saw."

I just don't see how it's a 'crazy ending.' It was a national team knockout round tourney match decided by PKs. How crazy is that?
The PK format took what should have been an exciting match and turned it into a farce.
