We had a thread like this for last season and I wanted to get a new one going just to catch up on where some of our former players and youngsters are. I know we have a Chelsea Chronicles thread but that seems to be for players who are a little more esteemed.
Steven Watt- a former promising defender was released by Swansea City after being loaned out the entire season to Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Scunthorpe have supposedly shown interest, but nothing has occurred to date. A solid youngster who has never gotten over the injury bug.
Joe Keenan- has a trail with Hibs. Still a player in Australia but may make the move back closer to home. Nice lad, always thought he would break through, but suffered a horrific leg injury against Arsenal reserves and missed his window.
Danny Granville- remember him. Signed a one year deal with Leyton Orient.
Although these names are boring for some of you, I always find it interesting to see where some of our youngsters end up. Feel free to jump in with your Gallas, Robben, Diarra (vomits) comments as well.
Hopefully this will keep going for a while.

Paul Hughes (remember the goal against Derby when the superstars bowed to him Waynes World style?) - retired with just over 100 professional games. Such a promising start too - I thought he would be good.

I had to relay this to Blues everywhere. I loved Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's time w/ The Blues. True, he got lazy at the end of his time w/ The Blues, but he had some awesome goals that had me yelling. Now this news from Scumbag Cardiff City is really disturbing (http://www.chelsea.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=507716). I wish the best for JFH

whilst searching for the number Casaraghi wore, I came across some names which may remind a few of you of a few players from not so long ago
Neil Clement- I suspect we will see Neil again this season as he is still with WBA, atlhough he did spend some time on loan with Hull last season. Good player and a solid professional.
Mark Nicholls- another "next best thing" prospect who I thought was always a little too lightweight. Actually turned out quite a lot in the 98 and made 52 appearances for the club with 3 goals before being loaned out throughout the lower Leagues with Reading, Colchester, Grimsby and then playing for Aldershot, Torquay and a few Scottish sides as well. Is now playing non League football.
Bernard Lambourde- tough tackling French defender who I always thought should have seen more time on the field. 64 apps, 3 goals in 4 seasons before being flogged to Pompey and then back to the French League with Bastia. Ended his playing career in Saudi Arabia.
Gabrielle Ambrosetti- yes I dont want to remember him either, currently still playing in Seire C. How much did we pay for him again? I do know, just dont remind me eh. 23 apps, 1 goal in 4 years.
Bjarne Goldbaek- another good little player for us and a solid professional. 40 apps, 5 goals in 2 years. Sold to Fulham for 650k where he stayed for 3 years before ending his career in the lower leagues of German football in 2005.
Jes Hogh- likable defensive back up player to Desially and Lebeouf who only made 17 apps for the club mostly due to serious injuries which eventually forced him to retire in 01 after being with the club for only 2 years. I believe he got back into coaching in his native Denmark upon his return but suffered a serious stroke in 07. From what I can remember the club assisted him in some manner, but of course the media had no interest in running that story and it got little press at the time.

Kevin Hitchcock and Eddie Niedzwiecki both left Blackburn to continue coaching with Sparky Hughes at Man City.
Jon Harley has left Burnley this summer and may join Dennis Wise at (we hate) Leeds.
and Bobby Di Matteo has just been given the manager's seat at MK Dons.

glad to see so many ex players getting involved in Management. As posted in the other threads; Eddie Newton is joining DiMatteo as an Asst.
Hopefully loan deals and permanent moves can be arranged for a few youngsters with Robbie.

eddieba's boy Lenny Pidgley
shame really cause I thought he would be a good little player. Cant really remember the last goalie we produced who actually made it to the top level.

Don't get around this forum much these days, so you may have already posted something to this effect, but our man Soxy is up to several things:
Wrote his book, Left Field (http://www.harpercollins.co.uk/Contents/Title/Pages/default.aspx?objId=36960) most people know that, but is also in the banking industry (http://www.abnamro.com.tr/corporates/docs/news/03052006_Le_Saux.jsp).
