Looks like we'll get to see some of the younger talent in this match. Szetela and Seitz have already joined and I'm sure there will be a few other names that will put smiles on some faces.
On another note, how many Bob Bradley haters will call for his head yet again after they don't see a player that they love?

I don't know. How many Bob Bradley apologists will continue to (purposefully?) miss the point of the arguments against Coach Bradley?
The fact that people actually believe Bob Bradley is the best qualified candidate for the job of US national team coach is astonishing to me. Russia has Guus Hiddink and Ireland has Trappatoni and there are people that actually think someone with Bob Bradley's resume is the single best qualified candidate we can find? Come on.

I must congratulate you on your great skill in demolishing straw men.

well, how about not starting bradley at some point - letting us see some other talent. he's good and getting better but for only 45 min. he straight out flatened out second half.
on a different note -
I want men to play in the cup - not boys. how one tells the difference I couldn't tell ya...it's just a sense of knowing I suppose. I want us to go in confident, 100% with every single player feeling that this IS the VERY BEST the U.S. can offer when cup time rolls around - that no one is in over their head and a sheer confidence that they can play and beat any player in this world. I want the very best u.s. can offer (.) this isn't training to become a better player - you need to be that better player already. this is the BEST of the Best.
Enough of this hodge podgin around, we are in qualifiers. Let's put our team together - soon, very soon.

I don't think anyone is saying that Bob is the best choice. Where did I say that? When are people going to learn that we are not a soccer powerhouse and that we don't have the talent of England, Spain, France, etc. I understand the point about arguments against him it's just that some people don't seem to understand the arguments for him. Bob has played some really tough competition in his tenure, more than Bruce Arena can say. Despite this tough competition he still has a very respectable record and has shown the ability to adjust, despite what people say. If you want evidence of this look no further than the personnel changes made over the 3 friendlies. Do people really think a Klinnsman was coaching that we would have miraculously won all 3 of the friendlies or something? I think some of you have unrealistic expectations (right now anyway) for this team.

Its not a matter of not having a player that you love included in the team.
People get pissed when players are living up to the only standard we've ever been given (starting in top leagues and performing well) aren't being given their opportunity to show that they belong.
Would you say that you're happy or concerned that Bob continues to run out the same group of forwards that apparently CANNOT score in the run of play against quality opposition? Count me concerned.
Eddie Johnson has no business on the field when he hasn't been on the bench for his club, hasn't scored for his club, and is rarely anything close to dangerous to anyone but CONCACAF minnows. He's spent way too much time on the field especially when you have a player like Cooper who's arguably the best finisher in the player pool and has only seen 60 minutes at the senior level.
There's something very wrong with Bob's thought process in this regard. In my mind, he's done little to nothing to solve our scoring problems despite all the talk about deepening the player pool.

Who could you possibly be talking about?
Starters in top leagues:
Howard - check
Friedel, Keller, McBride - retired
Dolo - check
sometimes Dempsey, Boca, Spector - check, they generally play a higher percentage of our minutes than they do for their clubs
Hahenhaman - got relegated and is blocked by Howard anyway
pretty sure that's it for starters in top leagues. If you include other CL or UEFA type teams:
Beasley - Check
Bradley - Check
Adu - subs for both club/country
Gooch - Check
Califf - getting some chances
You drop another degree down and all of a sudden you're at MLS equivalent levels and we have 100 guys somewhere in the picture.
So you don't have a full roster "starting in a top league and performing well". You have to then go with top league or performing well.

Wow - another argument about Bradley. This place is incorrigible sometimes.
I do have to say, the topic starter invited the argument. But is it possible to talk about a game, players, and tactics without devolving into an, "apologists" vs. "haters" argument? Completely counter-productive and makes this board harder and harder to participate in.
I do think it's interesting that Szetela is getting a look and I'm excited to see how he performs. When do they release the full roster?

The blog said Friday, and I'm pumped to see Szetela. He's pretty high on my idiotic expectations list.

At the very least, the fact that Szetela is in camp tells me he's in the mix for China this summer despite not having been in a single U23 camp yet.

So, is Chris Seitz gonna have more appearances with the national team than his club team if he starts Sunday?

I still think Guzan starts on Sunday. Seitz will be the backup. Cervi gets a weekend on South Beach.

What Bradley referred to and what I referred to were top leagues in the country the players choose to play in. So EPL and not Fizzy Pop. MLS and not USL. My point was that there are players living up to his standards, so far as league play goes, who could possibly fill gaps in our lineup. For some reason BB has chosen not to give them real opportunities to show that they deserve a place in the team so far.
Hopefully that's more clear.

Thus putting him in the Benny Feilhaber club.

With regard to the real topic, I'm really hopeful that BB brings in a true right wing option. I'd like to see Holden or Rogers. I think both are playing well enough to earn the time to prove they belong....or not.
I'd also love to see Cooper and/or Buddle brought in. They're deserving as well.
And I'd also love to see the Boca/Gooch tandem given a rest. Orozco, Demerit, Parkhurst,... have played well enough to get a shot.

Any chance that FIFA decides to allow six subs in this one? ;) I know that won't happen, but all this has become is a very, very low level friendly disguised as a WCQ.

How about White on the right wing? Or Kljestan after Thursday's match.
I love to see Robbie or Stuie play as well, but I think Stuie is better suited to a CM role (though I know BB loathes the position). But I think BB will try to take as few MLS guys as possible.
I'll go out on a limb:
----------Guzan---------
???--DeMerit--Califf--Pearce
---------Szetela---------
White-----Adu-----Beasley
----Altidore---Davies-----
I'd also like to see Orozco, but I don't know if BB will take a look.
