What are your favorite moments in any of the matches in this group, there have been plenty of awesome goals and lots of drama so many moments to pick from.
My favorite moment is the moment between France scoring against the Netherlands and the immediate Dutch goal following it. It was so funny to see some French players and Domenech trying to get their team to hurry up getting back to their spots so that they could try to equalize, only to have Robben score 44 seconds after the France goal and Henry falling on his knees, beaten.
Another great moment was the penalty Buffon stopped in the Romania game, that was pretty good, saved the tournament for Italy.

van Nistelrooy doing a little trick allowing Robben to assist vPersie against France (2-0).
I have never seen him do anything like that!

Sneijder's second goal against Italy. From start to end, that was a great goal that summarizes the Dutch performance so far.
Precise, fast, agressive and sharp on the finish.

I take it you mean Holland's second goal, Sneijder only scored once against Italy. :p

it's hard to have any... it was just hard lines all around for us. what's ironic is that the one match france really has to reproach themselves of was the only one they got a point out of, and yet even if they had won it 5-0 they'd still be out now.
there's only one positive moment i can keep: grosso's trying to console his OL teammates, especially benzema.
that's something that helps make football special. just like in sunday knockaround groups, you can be both teammates and opponents with the same guys.

Buffon's PK save.
In hindsight this could be the play of the tournament depending on how far The Azzurri go.:)

Instead of just admitting he is a god awful coach.

Domenech was furious by the performance of the referee, and says that it was almost as if it had already been arranged that France must be knocked out of the competition
is just words being dishonestly put into ray's mouth. even the part in quotations which follows has been cooked to make it seem he contests the penalty, which he doesn't. goal.com, as is their wont even though their content is always second or third hand, doesn't indicate any source, but here is all domenech has said about the subject:
"i think the referee lacked discernment and totally spoiled* the match. If it had been a real agression, of course he should be ejected, but there, it's simply giving the match to the italians."
"Je pense que l’arbitre a manqué de discernement et a plombé le match totalement. Si ça avait été une véritable agression, on veut bien qu’il soit expulsé, mais là, c’est carrément donner le match aux Italiens."
*the word plomber has two literal meanings which both would fit here: to weight, or to affix a seal to. but idiomatically, as domenech uses it, spoil is the best translation.

I think he barely even watched the referee while consulting the stars to figure out which defender to put on the field next while being down a goal.

Mexes and Flamini as well. I still can't believe the 3 of them were not called up. If he didn't want to play them thats one thing but not to be aprt of this when they are clearly 3 of the best players at there position in France. is just crazy.
Anelka getting called up instead of Trezeguet must feel like a slap in the face to trez.
Trez>>>>>>>>>Anelka
Congrats to the Dutch. Well deserved 1st place finish.

I think you French should be proud at the displaying of your younger characters.
I must admit, I've read you French talk and obsess about him constantly in your forum, but I never thought anything of it. Now I basically know that your elation was justified - indeed, he probably made your best shot in the match, yesterday. I have to admit I almost became a fan of him after that (ALMOST, after all, this is still France-Italy).
Henry I still say was decent. I don't think he should consider international retirement, assuming he continues to play the way he does, he could still be a useful asset for the 2010 World Cup.
You're going to need to rip apart much of the rest of your team. Vieira could still stay, in my opinion - Thuram, Abidal, some of the other veterans - got to go. It's going to be a difficult period of transition, but I think France will pull out of it. You have enough talent - Frey has been exceptional for Fiorentina, Mexes is a beast, too.
Just going to take a dedicated coach and some hard work, and France will revive. You can't depend on the golden generation forever. I would suggest that much of the problems in the French camp stemmed from disputes/animosity between the players and Domenech. Donadoni, although probably not the greatest coach in the world, at least managed to rally the players around him - they are loyal to him - and the team gels with one another.
Your next coach is going to have to focus more on building a solid team, where everyone is united. I guarantee that that key change will make all the difference for the French team. The talent is there, just glue the rest.
Vive la France.

Vive la France.not quite on topic, but you've made this the best place for a comment i've been meaning to make. after the droves and droves of tarzanelli garbage that has accompanied every meeting between our two countries in recent years, the bonne entente we had this euro is a victory in itself. viva l'italia!
