OK, now that some info on next years FIFA is coming out, I'll start up a new FIFA 09 info/news thread - just like I did last year (it was a huge success)

-This is a news/rumors thread with anyone linking sites that have new info... look at the other FIFA 09 threads to talk about what you want in the game...come hear to talk about reaction to news and thoughts/ideas about them

Haven't read any of the other threads but is there any chance that Champions League will be added to manager mode? If that happened I'm not sure I'd play another game...

Champions League is in manager mode on 08 but it is called ECC (Euro Champions Cup).

Any word on improvements to the ridiculous penalty system? I'd also like improvements on players making proper runs, marking for low crosses, and a better match-making system.

i think its close to 0%... just because they make CL games every 2 years... the layout is:
2008- FIFA 08 and Euro 08
2009- FIFA 09 and CL 09
2010- FIFA 2010 and WC 2010
2011- FIFA 2011 and CL 2011
2012- FIFA 2012 and Euro 2012
etc

while i do prefer FIFA over PES, you're a bit wrong about the release date thing. It comes out in europe and japan at the same time as FIFA. The north american release is the only one that is delayed until spring. The version we get in the spring is exactly the same as the one they get the previous fall, no roster updates, no big fixes. it's all the same.
