There has to be a separate thread for THIS match. Looks like Clerc will replace Sagnol, Evra will play on the left and Abidal will play central defense along-side Gallas. The usual Maké and Toule in midfield with Ribery replacing Malouda on the left wing and Govou on the right.

Benzema and Henry to play together at last.

Lineup is like this:

Coupet
Clerc - Gallas - Abidal - Evra
Govou - Makelele - Toulalan - Ribery
Benzema - Henry

Domenech the idiot to rule all idiots. NASRI off? Does he realize he needs TWO goals or his team are out? Why not take off Toulalan?

I'm rooting for France here, but they deserve to be out.

thats exactly what i was thinking. they HAVE to win and he takes off an attacking player for a defender. Toulalan should have come off. Abidal isnt a centerback. That was his first mistake. He is an idiot.

Now that Italy scored, Domenech is going to bring more and more defenders. Just to stop them from scoring again.

What an Einstein! [/sarcasm]

Nice referee

The worst Italians booing la marseillaise as usual and Ribery leaving the pitch injured…

How class…

What the heck was Abidal thinking.... I cannot believe he had the nerve to even argue anything the referee did. I have never been impress with Abidal and today is proof.

Nasri should had started,... to take him out being 2* goals down for a defender doesn't make any sense.

On another negative note: I have never been impress with the french coach....

On a positive note: the French team seems to be in transition... reminds me of the frnech team in Euro 96.

Abidal does suck, especially at center back! Hopefully Domenech will be fired after this pathetic span of games.

Another riveting 90 minutes of the Toulalan and Makelele midfield partnership.

Toulalan does nothing other than shoot from 40 yards every so often.

At least it is the last match we have to see that idiot Domenech on the sidelines. Bring on Deschamps!!!

Didi is a better tactician than Domenech, but really, I think more important than anything else, he does not have big biases against any of our players. In other words, we can expect the likes of Mexès, as well as Trezeguet, to return to the fold. Also, he will not stick with Thuram, Coupet, etc. even they happen to be buddies with him. At Monaco, other than his dislike for the upper management (which was deserved), he got along with the vast majority of the players, as well as being successful with a 4-4-2 which spread the game out and caused a bunch of trouble to opposing defenses. The 4-4-2 is important as one has to believe that will be our formation with the personnel we have during World Cup qualifiers. And finally, of course, he has had a decent amount more success in terms of having offensive teams than defensive ones. I am optimistic we will do well with him, although Wenger would be the best choice if he happens to be available, I believe.

Italy was not that impressive. A penalty goal and a goal on a deflection. Toni goes scoreless again and wasnt impressive either. Italy lucky that France was so terrible.
