In the season after next (09-10) Scotland will get and additonal slot in UEFA. Also, it talks about how they are doing away with the Inter Toto Cup. Here is the article.

Its not really an extra spot, its just the Intertoto spot with a different name.

it's mandatory though, usually scottish clubs just dinghy the intertoto.
we're actually due another UEFA slot in the next few years (provided our co-efficient improves slightly).

I haven't looked at the ranking lately, but I think we were 10th or so. To get the extra spot, we have to get up to 8th.
