If there was one game I was sure would be on FSW, it was the ManUre/Arsenal game. Dammit. But of course, it's a small price to pay to watch this match.

Its $20, DirectTV, DISH and any cable provider that has iNDemand PPV offers it. Just like buying any other PPV. You should be able to buy it via your remote less then 24 hours before kickoff.

So I move from Toronto, Canada to Geneva, Switzerland (well actually just across the border in France) and I was all jacked up to watching more football on TV here. Especially our beloved Arsenal. Much to my dismay I can't even get Arsenal on the satellite. I can't believe how fortunate we really were back home.
Back up plan is to go to the Pickwick Pub in Geneva. The atmosphere is always electric. Also plan on flying to Sept 26 to hopefully grab a ticket and see the Newcastle game live at Highbury! Not an easy thing to do either!

This is one game we had absolutely no chance of seeing free on FSW. Even fans of other clubs will be tempted to shell out the $19.95 for this.
I'm sure the EPL will throw a monkey wrench in the PPV plans for return match and move it a few times until it ends up being a mid-week fixture, late in the season. That's the only way we'll be seeing Arsenal/manUre for less than $19.95 this season.

Yikes. I'm going to be in Basel the weekend of the United match. I don't suppose you know anywhere to watch matches there do you?
Luckily, the next week, I will be sitting in the North Bank watching the Gunners take on Shearer and co.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't both matches last season on FSW live? At least I'm pretty sure the 2-0 loss at Old Trafford was, and it was a Saturday fixture.

I have some friends who live in Basel so I'll ask them where they would suggest. There must be a British pub near the MarketPlatz area. stay tuned.
Darn, I'm still looking for a couple tickets for the Newcastle game. going either way.

Dan, your memory is not serving you well :-) It was a 4:30am (on the west coast) live game on FSW. I remember because it was one of 2 times that I got up really early to watch Arsenal disappoint. The other 4:30am game was against Bolton at the end of the season. So, it is true that FSW carried both Arsenal v. Manure games live last season.

The game was originally listed as the Saturday PPV game, but early that week it was switched to a FSW broadcast. The meant a 4 a.m. start for you, just to watch a 2-0 loss. Ugh.

That pisses me off....ESPN finally shows Arsenal then pulls it for Becks. I mean Arsenal - Inter are two very big name clubs and many people see both has having a chance of winning it all so they pull it for Real vs no-name-no-chance-of-winning-team? Come on ESPN.
