The new season fixtures came out today, and we start at home to Bristol Cty on 9th August.

Our first away match, a week later on 16th August, is at Norwich City, which if Wes Hoolahan has as expected, signed for them is ironic tosay the least.

The first Tuesday evening league match is the first Lancashire Derby of the season, away at Burnley on 16th September.

The PKE matches are

at home on 16th November and
away on 11th April.

The Boxing Day fixture is away at Sheffield Wednesday.

The last match of the season is away at newly promoted Swansea City.

Blackpool's full fixture list is on the club's official site here -

My graduation gift to myself will be taking me and my girl to England for a week+, and we will surely make a game. Now lets hope I graduate!

You'll graduate, braniac! No worries. When do you think that will be??? I'm sure there are some other orange/tangerine faithful who would like to make the trip across the pond.:D

My adviser says I should defend sometime in the October/November months.

Will you wait until early Spring (March, April) or brave the winter months??

Brave the winter months?!?!? Do you know where I live? England has got nothing on the Northeast USA. I have been to England in the Winter, never even got my winter coat out (except for the plain ride home to have when I got off the plane). I hoodie was all I needed (although apparently in London, hoodies=hooligans or something, I got lots of nasty looks before my sister explained I just need to take the hood down)

LOL - guess I've forgotten how cold it can get (I grew up in NYC.) Been in the south a long time - my blood has definitely thinned out.

Blackpool does get a bit nippy though being on the north coast.:D

Oi Blackpool is on the West coast of the island of Great Britain, or more precisely the North West coast of England and to be even more precise (and way more pedantic) on the Fylde Coast!!! :p

Hoodies = chavs = sterotypical teenage pains in the arse who hang around street corners. Usually Chavs of the hoodie variety wear baseball caps with hoodies, and are associated with wearing burberry check, which is also associated with football hooligans who may or may not be Chavs - who are known as Charvers in the North East (the NE of England that is) and in Scotland they tend to be known as Neds! :D

It probably did not help that I am about 1.94 meters in height, and at the time was about 118 kilos (I am now about 90).
