It is very pity for Czechs, they deserved more to win today, but the mistake of Cech destroyed its team. In the first half, turks even didn't play, it was like a shame to the football.
Hard Luck to Czech!

What a comeback! Well done! I think a lot of people underestimated Turkey today...
And finally Petr Cech's stupid double-parrys bit him in the ass not once but twice.

There would have been a penalty shootout to decide. No extra time, just the shootout.

Congrats to the brave Turks on qualifying for the 1/4 against Croatia! What an incredible comeback in the last 15 minutes! They didn't play well in the first half ... but their huge morale after a lag is simply creditable (even though Petr Czech helped them with that mistake)! Kudos!
It must be very shocking for the Czechs to lose a game after a 2:0 lead (they had the big chance to score the 3:0, but Polak hit the post) ... but to be honest, it's their own fault cause they were too passive after the interval!
Well, I was hoping to see pk's ... but Nihat's superb winner was worth watching, too! ;)
Btw: What would have happened if the Czechs scored the 3:3 in injury time? Did Tuncay have to be the pk's keeper then?

It's simply a tragedy for this great keeper! Reminds me of Kahn in the WC final 2002...

Me too. :D
But it was a very silly action from the goalie (like Schweinsteiger against Croatia)...

wow, indeed an incredible game, great football, certainly the game of the tournament so far.
I wonder why the Turkish goalkeeper flattered Koller, I didn't see any provocation from the Czech forward. He could have cost Turkey the game if it had gone to penalty kicks, as a field player would have been the goalie for the Turks.
And Baros getting booked while sitting on the bench brings back memories from Euro 2000 - Radoslav Latal, who had already been substituted, was shown a red card by Pierluigi Collina for excessive protests against the decision to award a penalty to the Netherlands in the closing minutes of the game.
Many symbolic moments, a bit unlucky for the Czechs, they could have been leading 3:0 if Polak had scored, but congrats to Turkey, they controlled the match during the second half and showed a lot of heart.

Koller almost hit Volkan with an elongated leg. And it looked pretty intentionally from the Nuremberg forward...

After 0:2 the Turks played kamikaze football. That's OK, nothing to lose anymore, all or nothing.
If the Czechs had a skilled midfield, they would have counter attacked the Turks and won with high score, as Turks were wide open in the defense. But there are no Rosicky, Nedved, Smicer, Poborsky, .... anymore.
I don't understand why Baros did not play instead of slow Koller, he is exactly suitable for counter attacks.
Congrats to Turks, this is football with big heart!

Thanks, I never saw that, I will have to watch the replays. I guess that if that was the case, Koller should have also found himself in the book. What an ending to the game!

Congratulations to Turkey! I almost got my 3-3 prediction right. They've shown a big heart today and deserve to be in the quarter-finals.
Best of luck against Croatia! It's going to be tougher than against the Czechs.

Ok Gandalf or whatever your name is..take that! a lot of people simply do not understand that Turkish soccer is on the rise. It has been since 2000. Just amonth ago, Fenerbahce makes it to the final eight in the Champions League and now the National team does the same. You will see more good stuf from them yet in this torunament.
In the 1/4 ters,The Croatians (also skilled) should be a good game. When it comes to heart, the Turks pour it on every time.
Also, Stop blaming Cech--sure he messed up, but look what he did in many other saves and proper positioning leading up to it. Give some credit to Nihat for his quick reaction and anticipation. The Turks owned the Czechs the last 30 minutes or so...even if Cech does not make that mistake, the Czechs were done, and reeling under immense pressure and other goals were to follow.
Very stupid on Volkan's part. Just as I had thought he had matured this year..he does a bone-head play that could have cost his team a lot.;)

Yes, Todorov...you wre within inches. I am glad though that you misssed as PK's would have shown a different winner. It will be fun watching Turkiye inthe nexst rounds. I predict Turkiye vs. Netherlands in the final.;););)

Yes, if it went to PK's you'd be in trouble. I don't think Sanli could've saved any, though he could be a GK in the making!
Volkan was childish and Terim should fine him or something. What was he thinking?
It will be fun watching Turkiye in the nexst rounds. I predict Turkiye vs. Netherlands in the final.;););)Well, I hope Portugal makes it to the final. Despite our reserve players having put a miserable performance today against Switzerland, I'm still reasonably confident that we can beat Germany (or Austria) and Croatia (or Turkey).
However, rest assured that I sympathize with your cause and, God forbid, in case we don't make it there, I'd rather see you crowned than the Dutch.
"Değilse Portekiz, o zaman şampiyon Türkiye!". I don't know if my miserable turkish is enough to set up a coherent and understandable sentence, but you get the point.

VOW, Todorov, I am impressed...not 100% but still a WIN in my book for your Turkish. And for the Portugese, I also love them as a team and their soccer...actually, I appreciate skilled , creative fast moving soccer.
I think if they played again the Turks may have a chance, but the Portugese have to be the favorites. Something tells me though they may run into trouble against the Germans who will be pushing hard to play much better soccer from this point on.
Thanks for your support of an up and coming Turkiye!

No problem, I just hope that such "an up and coming Turkey" won't be at our expense!
By the way, are you a Cimbom, Sarî Kanaryalar or Kara Kartallar fan?
