Cech agrees with "frasermc."

But who expects a star with character to say anything else??

Story here. (http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news?slug=reu-euroturkeycech_pix&prov=reuters&type=lgns)

Every quote I've ever heard out of Cech has been nothing but class.

He's not a head case like Lehman, he's not a spazz like Barthez, he's not a calamity like James.

I've got great respect for him.

A bit ironic now, but did folks see this great adidas "billboard" on this ferris wheel? Pretty great.

Exactly. Cech has always struck me as a pretty modest guy to be a "star."

Sari Kanaryalar all the way...you are quite familiar with the Turkish leage , I see.:)

That's curious, I had a turkish friend of mine who was a Fenerbahçe's supporter, just like yourself. I guess you kind of split Istanbul in two with Galatasaray, right? Besiktas must have a considerable following too, I reckon.

My "familiarity" with the Turkish league is just something you could measure between "average" and "good". It's mostly drawn from internet, both CL and UC matches from turkish teams, the good old Football Manager, I confess! and from my curiosity and deep interest for football and other cultures.
Not miserable, quite understandable.

Blame Babelfish, not me :) Se não Turquia, então Portugal pode ser o campeão.

Thank you, and good luck.

That was quite good, Aziz. I didn't use Babelfish, myself. I tried to compose the sentence with a dictionary I have. I'm glad it didn't turn out incomprehensible.

Ok Gandalf or whatever your name is..take that! a lot of people simply do not understand that Turkish soccer is on the rise. It has been since 2000. Just amonth ago, Fenerbahce makes it to the final eight in the Champions League and now the National team does the same. You will see more good stuf from them yet in this torunament.
In the 1/4 ters,The Croatians (also skilled) should be a good game. When it comes to heart, the Turks pour it on every time.
Also, Stop blaming Cech--sure he messed up, but look what he did in many other saves and proper positioning leading up to it. Give some credit to Nihat for his quick reaction and anticipation. The Turks owned the Czechs the last 30 minutes or so...even if Cech does not make that mistake, the Czechs were done, and reeling under immense pressure and other goals were to follow.
Very stupid on Volkan's part. Just as I had thought he had matured this year..he does a bone-head play that could have cost his team a lot.;)

lol whats your name?

is it funboy:rolleyes:

Hey Todorov, it is nice to see true soccer fans around the globe watching the leagues of more than just the nation that interests them the most.

Looks like the plot is thickening as the true powerhouses make their presence on the scene. Very disappointed in Romania's play today. I was hoping they would also move up.

Good luck to Portugal and hope to see you guys at the semifinal.:)
