this is actually a little tougher to call than expected because Portugal will be playing with a lot of changes:

ricardo
MIGUEL carvalho pepe ferreira
QUARESMA moutinho MEIRA VELOSO NANI
POSTIGA

all in all though, our B team, or any lineup for that matter should be able to win games, so i'll give us a 2-0 victory today.

Still a team good enough to beat Switzerland comfortably I think.

Smart move by Big Phil. Get a bunch of the reserves some game action in case they are called upon later, and get many of the starters some rest.

Hakan Yakin with a perfect penalty. Seems a bit fixed in a way.

Well Portugal were assured top spot having beaten the Czechs and Turkey so they didn't really need to put too much effort in. Wouldn't have bet on the Swiss before the game though.

The portuguese team played really well in the first half, creating a lot plays and chances. I have no idea what happened to them in the 2nd half, the swiss put on some serious pressure and scored. Well, the game didn't really matter and we pretty much had a B team out there but we should of come up with a win but didn't.

Though I'm happy for the swiss team, they really played well in the euro..so congrads to them :D

I missed this game for Czech - Turkey. Anyone have any links to the goals? Rep will be distributed accordingly.

Finally a win for the hosts! :) Congrats!

I think they didn't deserve to leave the stage without any points, since they had some bad luck in the first 2 games.

Btw: Did you see that sensational cross ball from Quaresma? Wow!

Btw: Did you see that sensational cross ball from Quaresma? Wow!

Yes, too bad for him that this isn't the circus...

Quaresma needs to get his head into playing real football, not in doing those smart tricks that work against smaller teams but not in real competition. He had a chance today to prove why he should be in the starting line-up and failed miserably. The same can be said of the rest of the players, such as Nani, Veloso, Meira, Miguel, etc.

Our reserves were completely disappointing today, even disgusting during the second half, despite the terrible refereeing from Mr. Plautz (?) that cost us a penalty and a goal in the first half.

We need to straighten up our act for the quarter-finals.

What a terrible game.

The Portuguese B team should be able to comfortably beat the Swiss and I had so much faith in the bench wanting to show their worth: Veloso, Nani, and Quaresma have all been hoping for a turn and now that they had one they reafirmed Scolari's decision to not play them more.

Nani for me in particular was the worst.

Our defense was pretty solid though except for Miguel making some mistakes and showing that Boswinga is obviously the better choice. Pepe is responsible for the first goal but he doesnt make mistakes often. I personally thing Meira played well, he's a great player and that penalty was not his fault at all, terrible call by the ref.

ALSO, Postiga didnt play bad, he had plenty of chances in the first half but missed them by just a little, and when he did score a clean goal the linesman robbed him.

I dunno what Scolari hopes to see in Almeida by giving him 10 minutes of playing time, the midfield didn't even get the ball up to him.

What a terrible showing by Portugal, I hope the press rips them up but it won't matter cuz Scolari is only thinking about his $$$$ MILLIONS from Chelsea and players like Quaresma and Nani and Veloso seem to have their heads up their asses.

at half time we shou;ld have been atleast 2-0 up, but postiga missed 4 sitters, we hit the post, and then Postiga had a perfectly good goal called back.

veloso was the only midfielder doing well in passing etc..

Second half after Nani missed the 1 v 1 by hitting the post we just deflated even more and played with even less passion, if that was even possible.

Seriously, maniche instead of that piece of crap meireles, and our midfield would have been miles better.

We needed someone to keep the energy levels up.

wow Nani was clearly taken down twice in the box with no call (On top of that disgusting hack he took vs the Turks he is easily the most screwed over player at the Tournament) We've hit so many posts this Tournament and today was clearly no different.

That Postiga goal looked legit and was taken back and he missed a couple of sitters.

The Swiss got a good goal but that PK call was so weak compared to the hacks we got in the Swiss box. The Swiss deserved something this Tournament after playing better and losing their first 2 games a nice reversal for them even though it's not worth much.
