Romania were brave and have nothing to be ashamed of. After an 8 year layoff from major tournaments they were drawn into the toughest group in the history of the tournament. They stood toe to toe with the 2 WC finalists and a very talented Dutch team. Taking 2 points and finishing ahead of the French is nothing to be ashamed of. Should Romania have been drawn into a different group I'm sure you would have seen much more fluid, attacking football but these circumstances didn't provide the opportunity for that.

Piturca deserves all the credit in the world and firing him would be an even bigger mistake now than it was in 2000.

We all know Donadoni didn't really do anything today, France was weak and we were peaking. We were getting dominated by 10 of them at one point because he didn't make the right subs in time.

Well there are several players on the Romanian side who should be ashamed, most of them did not show that they even slightly wanted to bother to try and advance.

We didn't beat Spain yet, if at all. Relax for now buddy. lol Besides, we're not that stellar and you brought us to the cleaners. I would be wary of Sweden/Russia first.

On one hand, I don’t want to play Italy again. On the other, this Romanian team has no business at all at the European Championships. Neither did we, for that matter, but our boys came through.

I guess justice prevailed. With two solid performances, we should be in the final, leaving behind the lesser powers of mediocrity.

I honestly disagree. Romania can do much better than this. Might as well have stayed home if you're not gonna try.

Romania did well their first two matches, but yesterday they played really timid. I for one expected more of them, following our matches in qualification.

Yesterday's performance was disappointing but there's not a whole lot to be ashamed of for us. It had been 8 years since our last tournament and it was a cruel blow to be drawn into such a brutal group. We came out and played hard (for the 1st 2 games at least) and can leave with our heads held high. This was a building block on the road back to the top and we're going to have to quickly turn our concentration to a tough WCQing group. We'll be back because as Piturca said "Life goes on".
