View Full Version : Coaches Who Will or Should be Fired Immediately After the Tournament
3. Karel Bruckner, of the Czech Republic, if they don't advance to the next round, probably should be fired.
You think so? Seems to me that the CR's problem isn't their coach - it's that their three truly great attacking players (Nedved, Poborsky, Koller) are out or on the way out. They don't have younger talent that comes close to filling that hole, especially with Rosicky unavailable.
We already saw signs of this at WC 2006, when they fell apart after their first game and Koller's injury.

At least Cabaret can be entertaining; the French certainly haven't been.
You've got a point.

Yeah, but a 68 year old retiring or a guy going to Chelsea for the money isn't the same as being so bad in preparing your team so poorly that you should be fired.

Bob Bradley
Hell yeah. He failed to even qualify the United States for the Euros.

Poland only qualify for tournaments because they're always placed in weak qualifying groups for some some reason. Nonetheless, I can't understand how they finished ahead of Portugal in their qualifying group for 2008.

OK I think it's safe to say Domenach is gone.

The fact that Domenech hasn't resigned yet speaks loudly of his own delusional view on the current state of French football. Clearly the worst coach of Euro 2008.

He's too busy arranging to be married. Makes sense; manage a world power to a group stage bow-out in a European Championship and it is obvious that the first thing on your mind would be getting married. “The only thing of that I can think of at the moment is for me to marry Estelle.” (http://www.goal.com/en-us/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=741012)
And besides, France's failure at Euro 2008 is not his fault. "The scenario could not have been more catastrophic," Domenech said. "Losing a player to injury after 10 minutes and then having a player sent off. The referee lacked judgment and totally ruined the match. You can't take so much catastrophe in one match. It's not possible." (http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/06/17/sports/EU-SPT-SOC-Euro-2008-France.php)
Now I'm not a fan of France, but I'd say his actions following the Euros continue his bad choices made leading up to and during the Euros. If I were the FFF I'd be looking for a new coach.

Fatih Terim
he picks the most redicolous players, has left out very influencial players out of the squad(yildiray basturk, halil altintop) and has picked grandpas and unexperienced players to replace them. no to mention turkey almost didnt qualify becaus ehe kept fielding the old grandpa(hakan sukur) as a starter. the guy falls down if the wind blows on him let alone a little push.
up till right now it was the turkish players(tuncay, altintop, nihat, aurelio, arda) that has saved this team, this coach is dumb and he tryes to show off. he needs to be fired right after this turnament is over.

Domenech, Beenhakker, Rehhagel have been the worst
Low, Piturca, Lagerbeck and Donadoni also have had some problems, but some successes as well.

His son scored goals for fun in the Eredivisie this year. Good luck convincing anyone to fire him based on that.

Of course, the Italian press is mightily calling for Donadoni's head.
Defiant Donadoni Says Italy Played Well (http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news?slug=reu-euroitalydonadoni_pix&prov=reuters&type=lgns)
I think he's slightly delusional there, but I also think their lackluster performance wasn't all his fault either.
Some players (read: LUCA TONI) played as if they were just out there to have fun until their club seasons start.
Playing Spain without Gattuso and Pirlo and still taking it to penalties should speak FOR Donadoni in my opinion.

Italian media is reporting Donadoni will be fired next week. Don't know how legitimate that is though.
