sounds like Loco as the striker just isn't getting it done. A few sure goals have been missed.

Any news on Guatemalas list of players traveling to Chile?
Ill be going to the game vs u guys. Look forward to it.
*cough* 4-0 win *cough* :o
im just kidding. After we tied to Costa Rica at Chile we dont underestimate anyone. Specially cause the costa ricans did a Chilena on Chile , in Chile!!! How embarrasing.
El Primitivo is trying out players against ES and Panama. He will pick 20 players (including Pescado Ruiz and Rata Garcia) to make the trip to South America to play against Chile and Bolivia.
This is the first time this group of players have been together. Its a mixture of veterans and U23.
This is truly an embarrassing result.
No worries, this is the first time this group plays together. I heard El Salvador's GK had a big night.

I was at the game tonight. I'll give my report then I hope that you guys in LA and Miami can return the favor for the next few matches!
First of all, the match was very poorly played around the field. It honestly looked like 22 players from the second division right from the start. But what the players lacked in quality the crowd made up for with noise. The place was near capacity.
We were unfortunately not treated to really any of the first-11 for Guatemala. Loco, Romero and Avila. The rest were kids. Pando, Freddy Thompson, Trigueno and a few others didn't even dress. Tavo didn't enter the match either. So this was really a chance for Primi to see some guys prior to the eliminatorios.
For the few minutes that Marquez was in the match in the second half he made some nice plays. He dropped one ball over the top to a full-stride Loco who placed the ball right into the goal keepers mitts. Marquez still looks a bit small and slow for bigger competition, but for the first round of eliminatorios I'd like to see him get a look.
On the flip side is Avila who is big and strong and tough and also refuses to play with anyone else on the team at this point. He just dribbles, and dribbles, and dribbles... you get the point. He also can't deliver an early cross from outside the box. I'm getting nervous that his development will not continue only because he can get away with doing stupid things on the ball in Guate because of is size - if he were anywhere else he'd be put on the bench quickly because his size wouldn't be as much of an advantage. Hope he figures it out.
Vides and Castrillo were awful. They were constantly out of position. They were beaten to the ball. They could not find a simple pass to feet. And they were terrible at marking. We are in trouble if Tavo or Nestor Martinez get injured.
In ten minutes, Tanque showed that he's slow but that he can win head balls
against smaller defenders. I say, "great". Let's use him in the dying minutes against some competition when we need to throw numbers forward and serve crosses in. Other than that, he's useless.
Contreras looked good in his ten minutes.
Rodriguez and Lalin were ok in the back. They were constantly covering for Vides and Castrillo, however, so they were really put to work. I'd like to see each of them paired with a veteran in the middle, like maybe Tavo or Flores.
Overall, the team lacked spirit and rhythm. Romero couldn't even dictate the flow of the midfield and he was playing against kids from El Salvador whom I have never heard of and who were very limited. I would actually hope to see a combination of Freddy Thompson and Marquez/Contreras in the middle of the field for qualifiers in order to dictate the flow of the attack better.
Also, why does Primi insist on doing short-corners every time? We don't serve the ball in ever. And when we play short corners, the ball always seems to be taken away. I don't get it.

I hope Ruiz can go the full 90 against Chile, he only got 33 minutes on Saturday against Toronto.
He's scored a total of 19 goals the last two World Cup Qualifying campaigns, Guate needs him running on all cylinders.

I say after a few more matches with LA and this match with St Lucia he will be finally at full stride by the Semifinals
