Basically I mean every Dutch player and Spanish player and most Italians except Baggio. Why can't they come together like they do for their respective clubs?
I wince every time I see Holland and Spain play.

What are you talking about?
Raul plays well for Spain
Del Piero, Totti, and Vieri play well for Italy along with Nesta, Zamrotta, and Buffon?
I am not sure about Holland.

this guy is on the crack of the rich...
HOLLAND was eliminated from WC98 and euro2000 without losing a match
italy was a WC94 and euro2000 finalist
IMO spain would have won WC02 if not for the stupid referee in the so.korea match

He's completely right about Spain, ask most Spaniards and they will say the same, despite good players they have ALWAYS underperformed as a team.
They didn't have a chance against Brazil even if they beat Korea, they have never been a team.
The games against Northern Ireland and Greece alone showed this, they have never been able to finish good teams off, including Korea.
Spain have been the exact opposite of Germany throughout history.

He is just using bad examples. Several players are known as club players(John Barnes, Ian Rusg as an examples).... some are player for country only(Hagi....).

wait i should have stopped when i read this phrase - if they beat korea? they schooled korea for 120 minutes and had not one, but two perfectly good winners nullified for no reason whatsoever - if they beat korea.... (walks off mumbling obscenities)

With the team Spain, Italy and the Netherlands have, they should not be having these problems qualifying for Euro 2004.
If Serbia and Montenegro didn't beat Wales, then Italy would have to settle for the palyoffs. I shouldn't be this hard for them to qualify.
Same with Spain, they should be in the same position as France only needing one more win to qualify. But nooooo, they tie again Greece and Northern Ireland.
Well the Netherlands shouldn't have a problem in their group either but the Czech Republic is pretty good, so I can excuse them this time.

well brazil qualified for WC02 on the final day - do they suck too?

No Brazil don't suck.
The team was constantly being changed during qualifying. Didn't they have like 3 coaches during that time as well.
The point is when the starting 11 was fixed then they came together as a team and won. Can't say the same with the Netherlands or Spain. I mean most of those teams have been playing together for a while, so it shouldn't be a problem. So what is the problem?

you need to pass that over mon...
HOLLAND has won every qualifier thus far except a 1-1 draw with the czech republic (certainly no shame in that) - and besides they have not had the same players every time out, the ORANJE gets injuries and tests new players like anybody
spain on the other hand is having a weird difficulty but hey that happens when your top 5 defenders are hurt and you have to go with a bunch of inexperienced internationals for 2 or 3 matches

Spain have and always will be complete underachievers, whereas Germany are complete overachievers.
Spain should have beaten Korea regardless of linesmen if they were good enough to beat Brazil, they could not.
Spain cannot finish the best teams off, simple as that. I can't think of a top team they have beaten for 6 years. England beat them 3-0,even Germany's awful team 2000 beat them 4-1.
When did they last beat any of Germany, Italy, France, England, Argentina, Brazil, Portugal etc etc?

last meeting with france 2-1 spain 2001
last meeting with italy 2-0 spain 2000
last meeting with england 3-0 spain 2001

In a friendly or a competitive game?
Spain is in the 2nd tier of teams alongside Holland, England, Portugal, etcetera. We've just never had the talent and mental fortitude to win a recent tournament at the senior level.

Whatever you think of Moreno ( I am NOT one of his fans), it should not have come to his decisions that altered the game.
Spain and Italy should have beated S. Korea easily. Spain should not be playing them for 120 minutes. That was pure madness. I have stopped blaming Moreno and blamed the teams for their failure to get farther in the tournament.
I just don't want to see the same thing happen at EURO 2004. I want Spain, Italy and Holland there without having to go to playoffs where they could end up knocking each other out.
I just want a good competition, so that they can prove that they aren't chockers.

Exactly.
If Spain or Italy were good enough they should have beaten Korea regardless of linesmen. Germany had a very tough time too, but yet again they did it.
Spain may not even qualify for Euro2004 in a very poor group.

I'm pretty confident we'll qualify, even by playoff. We almost always qualify. It was just 2 bad matches in 1 week. Costly yes but I think it was just an anomoly (watch us lose now, lol)

first of all, moreno was not the ref in the spain-so. korea match - he worked the italy-so.korea match
second of all, yes the officials can alter the result if EVERY time spain scores a proper goal, it is waved off - if baraja's goal is properly counted the match never goes 120 and who knows? perhaps spain tack on a another goal or two with the counter - every huge decision that alters the score can alter the result - this is not fantasyworld, i prefer to base my judgement on reality
yes spain have a long history of underperformance, but you cannot be serious if you want to include WC02 in that story - it simply did not happen that way - spain looked assured and a threat to win it all
and as for calling HOLLAND chokers.... grow up! only 1 of 32 teams wins a WC (1 of 16 at euro's) - does that mean everybody else is a loser? no - i repeat: the ORANJE was eliminated from WC98 and euro2000 without suffering a loss - is losing to brazil in a semifinal PK shootout really choking? i'm sorry, i thought brazil was the best
if none of that satisfies, then there is this.... *************** HAPPENS
