Do you even watch football or you just say his name because he is semi-Polish? Grow up.
Yes and I play it in youth professionally. Sorry but I should have mentioned that he was MVP in the Poland team, not for the whole tournament.
For me the tournament MVP was Senna.

Seconded. Did all the little things for Spain and didn't really have an off-game all tournament.

I'd put Podolski, I think he has been clearly the best player of this Germany and incredibly decisive to arrive at the final. .
Podolski over Schweisteiger? They both have been good, but schweinsteiger has been more influential during gameplay
I stand by it, Senna or Casillas should be crowned player of the tournament.
Ballack shouldn't be anywhere near this.
agree completely

How about just man of the final match? I know Torres scored, but I was really impressed with Xavi today. He controlled the midfield along with Fabregas. Iniesta and Silva were good too. That's why Germany didn't get many chances. Spain had possession most of the game. Awesome game. I wished Torres scored on that header that hit the post. Then he would have been man of the match without a doubt.

Senna probably.
For the Dutch: van der Sar. Who in my view deserved to be nominated for player of the tournament sooner than Sneijder.

Van Nistelrooy had a far better tournament than Torres.

nice to see Zyrianov making the team of the tournament.
he may not be as flashy as Arshavin but he's a quality player.

Senna, but I really rate Iniesta's tournament as well. His linkup work was magic at times.

Iniesta's performances in the group phase weren't that brilliant. He was unfit due to his season end injury and the illness before the tournament.
IMO, as I said, should've been Senna or Xavi. One could add Marchena, too.

agree . In Turkey , every think Arda was best of Turkey, if you put one, that should have been Arda not Hamit. Arda played 3 matches, all of them we won, and missed two matched, we lost.
Where is Van Nisterroy, van bronkchorst?
If Arshavin and Pavluychenko (and Zyranov, Zhirkov) was that good, would not they score more than one goal against Spain in 2 matches (even Greece and Sweden`s performance are better than Russia)
Arshaving and Pavluychenko played 570 minutes, scored 2 and 1 goal respectively
Semih Senturk played 240 minutes, scored 3 goals, I dont know
What Van Der Sar is doing there, after conceding funny goals ? where is Srna then?
I think, they asked this guy to select a team immediately, and he checked teams went to far, then looking some fm, clubs they play , and came up with that.

What Van Der Sar is doing there, after conceding funny goals ?
Are you serious? Van Der Sar saved Holland from losing 6-0 to the Russians. In the group stage, he was brilliant. Saved a sure-goal from an Andrea Pirlo free kick vs. Italy. Saved about 2-3 sure chances against France when Holland was holding a 1-0 lead. And obviously, without him, Holland have lost by a huge scoreline against Russia. For him to keep Russia at only one goal after 100 minutes of Russian domination is just stunning. And he did not concede "funny goals," the goals he conceded, there was nothing he could do about.
Lehman, Nikopolidis, Rustu, Ricardo, and Cech conceded funny goals by making stupid stupid mistakes. Van Der Sar never made any of the stupid mistakes. He did the best he could, but no goalie can keep on saving point blank shots. He could not possibly be blamed for the goals that the Russians (and even France) scored on him.

I played as a goalkeeper in u17 in a Turkish club at the time which was in Turkish Super league then moved to 1st league.
I have been watching him more than 10 years, he is a very static goal keeper.
Definition of good goalkeeper; (from a famous goalkeep,r, cant remember who said)
' A good goalkeeper is the one, who is not the man who saves incredible shots sometimes, but the man who does not concede easy goals what others would not easily`
He has mistakes in 2 of Russia 3 goals
in the first one he is to slow to react, a good goalkeeper would save (not a mistake, but a so-called keeper of tournament would save)
second one, one of the most terrible goal, I would say, just ask a professional goalkeeper, that is worser than Rustu`s and Czechs, equivalent to Nikopolidis`s.
http://euro2008highlightsandgoals.blogspot.com/2008_06_21_archive.html
Look to second one, there are 5 defenders in the box, positioned well, what he is doing, is he waiting a magical shoot from that angle? he goes to front post, where no Russian there, and create such a position that 1 Russian in between 4 defenders score, that is the most terrible mistake in that tournament I think, it was 1 out of million that this position would end as a goal, if not Van der sar. The ball may slide from keepers` hands (like Cech) in rainy water, but if you are 35 and do such a mistake, dont tell me you are good. or Rustu, he went to the side cause defence was slow, and he though he could catch, these are not so big mistakes.
3rd one another mistake, golden rule of goalkeeping
`a good keeper is supposed not to concede goal from the side he is standing`
terrible one.
So it does nt make difference if its 6-0 or 1-0 , they were eliminated.
overall. Van Der Sar, I always thought he is the most overrated goalkeeper, one reason why Netherland always disappoints.
People saying Cech mistake was terrible, even in this tournament I saw 4-5 positions like that, but since no player was chasing it did not end up as a MISTAKE, unlucky of tournament is Cech definitely.
and about France match I dont remember which one he saved, but I remember again he position so bad that Henry could do an easy chip shot, while Henry could not
