The Portugal match will also be the first time in forever that this German team will be looked upon as the underdogs, and that can't be bad for their motivation.

I thought playing for advancement to the next round wouldn't be "bad for their motivation" either.......

Well Löw needs to react. Gomez - out! Podolski out of midfield but field him as a striker. Hitzlsperger - out of the team and beat him to dead!
Lahm did very well and Friedrich was quite good in the defense but our offense is horrible!
But maybe it works better when we're underdogs. But we also have 5 less days of regeneration because of this ********ing unfair head to head rule!

There is way too much not working in German squad to overcome Portugal. It's not only the midfield, all of a sudden the forwards are struggling as well and the defense is always shaky.

If it was just one part of the squad I'd be still optimistic but after THIS horrible display I just don't see it happening.

Exactly. They show no signs of turning it around. We won't know until they play again, but anyone who thinks these guys have a chance a Portugal the way they are playing now is just being a blind optimist.

You'd be surprised at what you see people type just after matches.....

I suppose that Low red card means he misses next game on the bench?

Well to be more precise, they have 5 more days. Or do you think they would have field a B-team if they could have lose their first spot with the goal difference rule?
Also because of this rule we were unable to overtake croatia, so they could field their b-team as well (it didn't matter in the end, but that's not the point).

Mental breakdown aside, Schweinsteiger gave one of the more impressive German performances. Hope to see more of him.

They earned it because they won their games. So what's your point?

Portugal knew before the last matchdays that nothing could prevent them from finishing first! Even losing 100:0 to switzerland wouldn't matter. So they could rest their key players. Thats unfair.
And that's not the only disadvantage of this damn rule.

Also croatia could rest their best players, so before the game poland had better chances (well they ********ed it up anyways) to win than austria, that's unfair too. With doal difference Germany could have overtake coratia and so they would have to take the last game seriously.
Because of this rule after two matchdays the group winners were already decided, that's bullshit.

Also if there are more than two teams tied on points the rule just don't work anymore it becomes ridiculous and twisted.

Do you think that Germany can win versus Portugal with this performance?
Lahm was the best player in all three matches.

I think Germany is a huge underdog vs Portugal. With a performance like this they won't win.

No, with this performance they will be lucky to lose with a three goal margin.
Still shocked.

At this rate, it will be more likely for me to win the lottery, inherit the Playboy mansion and convince Meagan Fox to move in with me.

about that "unfair" stuff: that's absolute nonsense..every team knows what the tournament rules are before the first match, right ?!
