SCOLARI IS NEW CHELSEA MANAGER

Chelsea TV and www.chelseafc.com can exclusively reveal the following statement:

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to confirm that Luiz Felipe Scolari will be the club's new manager from July 1, 2008.

Felipe has great qualities. He is one of the world's top coaches with a record of success at country and club level, he gets the best out of a talented squad of players and his ambitions and expectations match ours. He was the outstanding choice.

Out of respect for his current role as Head Coach of the Portuguese national team, and to ensure minimum disruption to this work, there will be no further comment from Chelsea FC nor from Felipe about his new role until his employment with us commences.

Strange ... doesn't sound like something Scolari would want. He doesn't like distractions during competitions and this is a big one.

I am very surprised. If Roman wants attractive football, Scolari is really not the best choice.

I'm just praying we don't bring in Portuguese garbage like Deco and Quaresma. The only question over him is his work in the transfer market.

Get ready for some interesting press conferences. Scolari has absolutely no patience for the press and their inquisitive questions.

Good choice I think.

I hope we get the old Scolari, the tough as nails one, not the one that has kunts like Deco playing.....dear god don't let him try and buy that tool.

Would've liked to have Laudrup but we'll see how it turns out. At least he's got some experience unlike Grant.

Scolari is the one that fought players like Figo to get Deco into the Portuguese team.
