I have no idea why"Emperor" Terim did not play Arda and Gokdeniz even a minute against Portugal. Till the horrendous rains came and saved the Swiss from a huge defeat, this line up showed what is in store for the Czech game. It is not easy to come back from 1-0 under those conditions which took away the Turks' skill in passing, especially on Swiss' home turf.
Do not go by the soccer(lack of it) the Turkish side displayed against the Portugese. I have no idea where that came from.
On Sunday we will see a fantastic game--no penalties. One team standing at the end of 90. My prediction: 2-1 Turkiye. Arda plays a big role again.

Pity for Switzerland to be already out, somehow they lacked fortune in this tournament. Well, they had the big chance to score the 2:1 just 5 minutes before the end of the game ... but if you miss such opportunities, you mostly get punished!

Exactly.

for what it's worth, true story, walking through the factory this morning i shook hands with, in order, a swiss, a portuguese, a turk and a czech (well 2nd gen. french but czech heritage)... and they were all smiling and happy. because it was a sunny beautiful morning like we haven't had in two weeks!

Can't play matches in La Paz, but apparently playing in an open field in the middle of a fierce lightning storm is not putting any players' health at risk.

Gotta love football politics.
