Very unselfish team play, nice touch from Ronaldo. Very mature.
I thought that in both games they have played so far. Not good news for the teams in their way.

in my opinion the MOTM is Deco...but they gave it to Ronaldo...he kinda deserved though.

Deco deserved it if anyone. Deco goal and assist to Ronaldo in traffic. Ronaldo's assist was unselfish, but it wasn't difficult. Deco is the brain of Portugal's offense.

great game portugal look so good at times, I'm rooting for them to win this whole thing, but I don't know if they'll be able to pull it off.

Maybe we won't see. How about we let it get that far first?
Portugal will have to get by Croatia(if they lose to Germany) first. Then Germany. Portugal has some holes in the back, and Ricardo is questionable at times. Ronaldo needs to step it up and become a little more selfish in open play.

Our defense is QUITE VULNERABLE on dead balls. Ricardo flights to kiss the air makes it worse...
Simão was invisible in the first half...against teams that have compact defenses I would rather go with Quaresma.
Deco sometimes makes stupid passes but overall he was our best player. The brain behind the machine. Very good game.
Ronaldo finnaly scored...he'll always be dangerous no matter how much he misses possession...
Nuno Gomes in the few times he got ball was dangerous, liking him so far...
Petit did a good game...made me eat my words.
I think that in a clash between Portugal and Germany...the bavarians are favourites for sure. The physical challenges and accurate shooting from headers and long shots will prove deadly against us...we need to come up with a strategy if that time comes...

Deco played amazingly today. MOTM for me.
Our defense was a mess. Ferreira on the left was terrible today and Ricardo...is Ricardo. Pepe was caught off position several times. He needs to improve his positional awareness.

I agree with most of what you said.
For the life of me I can't understand Scolari, lets see, we're going up against a huge Czech team and he thinks Nuno Gomes will be able to get the ball amongst their defense? Almeida is the tallest and biggest person on the time, and is used the physically bigger German league, he really should have started.
2. again, why are our biggest defensive players Meira and Alves on the bench? Meira did a great job of helping to contain Koller but i feel like this was the perfect game for Alves to shine.
We are looking better than we did in the first game but I agree, we're not ready for Germany yet.

Are you kidding? Ronaldo is the most selfish player in the World right now, he lost the ball 90% of the time he had it because of his inability to not try something overly fancy or refuse to pass even with 4 men on him.

Didn't know that Bayern Munich will replace Germany in this clash...:eek:;)
Btw: Congrats on being already qualified for the 1/4 final. Impressive run so far...
I don't think we'd be the favourites in this game. Both teams have their strengths & weak points ... whereas this Portugal squad is the best one since many years (in my eyes)!
We are looking better than we did in the first game but I agree, we're not ready for Germany yet.
So please stay away from us! ;)

Deserved scoreline considering how many amazing chances Portugal missed, and a few great saves Peter Cech made.
The Czechs threatened from 3 set pieces, and Ricardo throws our whole backline into a frenzy when the ball enters the box in the air.
Portugal just seemed to stop playing after their goal for 20 minutes, they turned off, but after that from the 35th minute onwards, they rampaged through the Czechs.
Superb passing and entertainment from Portugal, Deco was fabulous, and so many 100% goal chances missed.
Nuno gomes twice alone in the box, Simao twice alone, Peter Cech with 2 amazing saves on Ronaldo and Deco..one failed pass by simao to a wide open nuno gomes with a empty net near the 6..Decos shot grazing the crossbar.
The Czechs caused danger to us in the air as expected, their one of, if not the tallest team, while Portugal is the third smallest..but the main reason is Ricardo. The defence comfortably handled anything on the ground, but in the air with Ricardo in net everything goes to hell and insanity starts.
64% possesion, 11 shots on target to only TWO by the Czechs, 15 goal scoring chances to only 4..Portugal improved from their first game, but Ronaldo, Carvalho, Pepe, Bosingwa, Moutinho, etc can all still improve..gradual improvement in each match is needed and is the way to go in the tournament. Heres hoping that Scolaris announcement to Chelsea wont disrupt anything.

Just wondering, does Ricardo scare Portugal fans to death? He seems to make the same mistakes on corners and crosses he has made for years. He makes some great saves, but it has to be nerve wracking to have such an adventurous keeper.
God yes, someone kill him please, hes the reason our defence looked scared when anything was in the air, and gifted the Czechs their 3 good chances.
