Shameful Sweden. It has reminded me to the Trinidad & Tobago game but now being Sweden the coward. A very well deserved defeat. Better luck next time with that chicken strategy. Besides we were stolen an amazing penatly. To hell.

On a positive note, at least this match gives Spain a taste of what to look for when they play Greece.
Having said that, Aragones needs to rest key players.

We deserved the win, specially after that uncalled PK. Still, we'll need to do a little more in the QFs.

Puyol injury hurt us a lot.

We really need Ramos to overcome his dumb phase. I'm pretty sure Aragonés is going to have more than words with him. Capdevila could've also done a lot more when he was defending Elmander in their goal's play. Marchena was dirty, but improved a lot towards the end.

And Silva is too soft.

You're right, Trinidad/Tobago are cowards if they don't play attacking football in world cups and lose all their games 10-0.

And the same applies to Sweden.

Brilliant.

By the way, it doesn't really make a difference that Sweden lost this match, because the situation is still the same, they'll most likely get second place in the group if they don't lose to Russia.

Great finish. Our defense is going to be the death of us though. What is up with Ramos this tournament? He has been terrible.

Gutted. Sweden fell back way too much in the second half. A shame Ibrahimovic had to be replaced in half time.
It should have been a free kick to Sweden just before Spain's goal though.

T&T were out losing the next two games anyway and played a shameful game against you. In my whole life I still haven't seen Spain playing to defend the way you did today. That would be unacceptable here.

When Sweden was scored they moved forward and outplayed Spain completely. I don't see why a big team like Sweden, with a much better record in the History of World Cups than Spain should play the chicken looking for a draw mostly when both teams were so balanced. Spain has more technique, Sweden has more strength. You could defeat us just by crossing high balls for your tall forwards. Anything but what you did today. With all respect for Sweden, a very good team and country, but today's attitude was shameful.

horrible defence for Sweden there. Unbelievable that Villa was able to get that in... 1,2,3 defenders should have had that. Congrats Spain. Tough luck Sweden. If Russia wins it sets up a nice finale!

My man of the match vote goes to Senna, he played much better today then last match, was all over the field and made some great passes forward and was there on defense when needed.

As a neutral, I always like to see the team that presses for the victory get the win. Deserved victory for Spain.

I couldn't agree with you more. After 1st half, it was anyone's game. I hoped that Sweden would come out in 2nd half and win the game, and they came out looking like..........?????

How could they play like that in the 1st half and then the 2nd half ?. It's shocking, disgusting and enough to make a grown man cry. No need to tell us that it was shameful. You should all be dancing the flamenco that Sweden gave you 3 points. Leave the shame and crying up to us. Lagerback has to be sacked, long after the game, I am still in shock and disbelief of what happened.

The way Sweden played is unacceptable here as well. I can imagine what tomorrows headlines will be.
