Oh, and props to van Basten... 2 subs, 2 goals.
Time for Bouma to finish it off and make him look the genius... ;)

Another consideration to make.. I've posted this elsewhere... remember Holland, if they win their quarterfinal will meet the D1 v C2 quarterfinal winner. No disrespect to Romania, but I could see the Dutch preferring them over a Italy or France rematch. I could very easily see the Dutch tactfully 'taking it easy' vs Romania to ensure that both the other group C giants are eliminated.
Just a thought.... ;)
They've won the group. They can and likely will play the 2nd string. No reason to risk injuries or yellow card accumulation in a meaningless game.
Sticking it to the Italians and French is just icing on the cake... :D

Great header from RVN.
By the way, it's mind boggling why Domenech wouldn't include Trezeguet in his squad.

Horseyface with a truly cultured header that almost makes it 4-1.
That guy is really a great striker.

I really wish Manchester United hung on to him. He's always such a threat.

Yeah... glennaldosf and the above are dead on. I can't say how great Van Basten is tactically, but he certainly knows what it takes to win a tournament.

corect. i was thinking the same way. although holland's reserves are also very good and will try to prove themselves to earn a place in the first 11

Trez is useless with Les Bleus. He may score when he plays with Juve with his nose, but when he plays for France he is invisible.

Props to the ref?
Seems like the match has flowed well with little notice of the central official.

And there's why Robben is not the greatest player in the world.
Lay that ball off.

The only thing I want to say to the referee is: go on a diet.

Just like the rest of the French strikers -- maybe sans Henry? And honestly, he has 34 goals for France (according to wikipedia).

Is this the first match with less than three minutes added time at the end?
