podolski, lol

Sure, but I tell you that no matters how low Germany can be, nobody will want to play against you. Germany is Germany.

I have not changed my original view of our prospects in this tournament. I just now have to replace teams like France I guess with Holland. Either way that side of the draw can still only produce one of those teams and the teams on our side of the draw are going just as I expected. We've been consistent for 2-3 years and could bounce back to form in one game, so one pretty tight match does not change anything for me. If anything that game was perfect as it gets rid of any complacency they might have had. I think they did have some, as comments after the game from players say. They sort of thought they were in the qf already after beating Poland (as Austria for them is a sure win they reckoned I guess).

Hey Dutch, your team has displayed outstanding football so far and I am supporting you to win it all. You are my favorite European side and you taught Italy and France footballing lessons. I only wish Brazil in its current state could do that.

Destroy the Romanians and advance to the final and lift that f****** trophy!

More news from nowhere.

It's getting strange in here...

This is a blessing in disguise for the French. With some decent tactics and team selection, the French would be much better off. Domenech is showing how far in over his head he really is. Makelele for the entire 90? Insanity. It must have been Gomis horoscope that told Ray that he was the man to put in.

Mind blowing stupidity, where do I put in my application?

Poor Vieira.

And Henry, probably their last major tournament, and their thick headed arsehole of a coach is ruining it for them.

A very entertaining game, but France may disagree. NED are on fire right now, and players such as van Persie and Robben start on the bench. I hope NED can display the same firepower in the round of eight.

Impressive... but I still don't fancy Netherlands to go all the way through.

Italy and France have taken the role of occasionally choking these last few tournaments and do either really well or really bad, and to be honest I feel they both only saw each other as the real threat in this game, hence the fact that Romania are currently second in the group.

For me, Holland was able to take advantage of that well because they are a team to withold when underestimated, but I think once they face the elimination round when no one is taking anyone lightly, it will be a different story. And I'm sorry but what the ******** is wrong with Van der Sar? Some of his saves in this tournament have been straight out of a comic-book, he's begging for someone to score on him he really is. And let's also remind ourselves that Holland was lucky to get a 3-0 against Italy, considering Italy had quite a few chances including a ball cleared right off the line, and I'm sorry but a clearance off the line rarely comes from any form of skill, but rather good luck. Put this Dutch defense against Spain and personally, I do think they'll get shredded apart. But we'll see. I sense way too much over-confidence from the Dutch because of the margin of these score-lines, when in fact both games play-wise were very very even.

Stunning. You can't get rid of the feeling that this can't last; but you are having trouble believing you just saw what you saw.

Never have I seen a back-to-back peeformances as such. Parting thought is that Europe is changing?

I haven't made sense of the back-to-back performances and the performances of the big guns, but there is a pattern here, and it may well be the teams that have embraced their youth are prevailing.

Today I am just catching my breath.

Netherlands alone, for sure.

Soyons beaux joueurs...

Impressive, guys. I wish this talented squad could make his way through the final victory. With so much talent they deserve it.

No one will forget what happened in June 08 for Holland, unless they fall apart.
