He said that the French are not a team, the danger from the French comes from individual players like Henry and Ribery.
That was my impression, too.
This time, Holland is a real "team" ... that's more than obvious!
And if this team consists of many great individuals in the midfield & attack, it is very hard to beat!
Btw: I think that you 2 Romanian guys are in the wrong thread. There's another one for the "Holland vs Romania" game...

I have not watched the match...but wow...what a performance from Holland. I think Holland are clear favourites now.

Congrats to the dutch. What an awesome team and what an awesome coach.
But I really hope they don't let Romania win the next match
Well, let me be a nice boi for once and conclude that Italy have grounded claim of being screwed. I personally feel that the firs RvN goal was legit, but over two games... You got the stick.
I thought Italy showed some awesome passing in the box here and there, but it never crystalized into a goal. I think Italy will floor the French... I dunno how NL will play against Romania, but we got enough hungry quality on the bench to beat them, and I think we will.

I think this is the best team spirit in any Dutch squad since 88. In hindsight, Clarence Seedorf not being in the squad is a blessing in disguise. I like how Engelaar is performing and his partnership with DeJong real protects the back four. Great performance by the subs and Ruud shows again that he is worldclass.

Agree word by word.
Seedorf is 4 times European Champion with 3 different clubs, but I agree that he has not been a great contributor to the Dutch team and perhaps he and some others did in fact mean more a problem than a help.
Wonderful Holland.

Yeah Clarence is my man but he's of the past. Time to move forward with a new group of youngsters.

I gotta say, apart from my natural bias... This team is crazy, icecold... Complete.
Nobody is unbeatable, but I have seriously never seen a team go about like this, scoring goals here and there.
I'm proud of these guys, and to be honest the Euro title itself has become secondary to me. I'm just completely and utterly amazed at what is happening. Very, very cool :D

If Holland continues to play like this, I'll support them to win the EC, regardless of whatever the German team does. Actually, the 3:0 beating to Italy would be reason enough. All in all, absolutely impressive³.

you should be very proud.
while I don't think they're totally complete in that other teams have created many chances against them, they are clearly the most impressive team in the tournament so far and are getting results that are quite amazing (when is the last time a team beat two of the top 4 powerhouses - holland being the 4th - in europe this badly in such a short space of time?) and playing good attacking football too. Plus orange is a catchy colour.
I think they are, to their own fans, generating the type of feeling germany did to theirs in 06 that people consider the feel-good factor more important truly than actually going on to win it.
If holland play germany in the final and germany don't improve considerably...it could be a hiding. But then again holland could choke bigtime considering their past in big matches and because of what they would expect from germany given their heritage in such matches. Who knows..
I think holland-portugal is the most deserved final out of the teams so far. Two most complete sides from back to front.
And isn't it good that this euro is turning out some good attacking games?? And when they aren't such games, they have been upsets (croatia-germany).

for us Dutchies, this is so unreal... But still... only two games. We don't know how this team would cope with trailing one goal behind for instance.
But still, a very unexpected series of 2 brilliant results...

Truth being told, Its totally unconceivable what is happening here. I'm 26 and I never saw Holland play this briliant. In true Dutch tradition we will find a way to ******** up and don't win the title, but I never have been this proud of our team, and f*ck it for me they are already the best team in Europe regardless....

Before the Euro started I predicted that Holland would beat Portugal in the final, with Germany and Italy 3rd and 4th. For me, Holland had the best team as I had seen in detail the season of Sneijder, Robben and Van Nistelrooy. They were impressive in Madrid. In addition they have Huntelaar, Kuyt, Van Persie and Van der Vaart. Who can equal that?
But we all know that neither Holland nor Portugal (or Spain) end up winning. It's always Germany or Italy, he ones with stronger winning mentality and tradition. I hope things change this year because Holland is my favourite team from 1974 after Spain because of the offensive, risky, technical and beautiful football they play. Nobody like them.
I lived very close the 1988 Euro and Holland was even brighter than now. They had an amazing team line by line. But most of all they looked and were mentally stronger because of the AC Milan trio were already consolidated and taken for the biggest world stars. I see this team younger, with no European club titles backing them and more fragile than that one.

not even holland 74 beat arguably the world's two best teams by these scorelines. Argentina and Brazil were a notch or two below that at that time.

Another great fact about this is that Holland is not relying on 1 star player to score goals, of the 7 goals Holland has scored only 2 were by the same player (Sneijder) the other 5 were all by different players.
It seems to me that most other teams rely too much on 1 or 2 players to score all their goals.

How many goals does he have to score before he starts cheering?

haha, good point.
after the croatia goal he looked so mute, partly because he was probably pissed off as everyone seems a bit pissed off at each other in that game in the german team.
well if he scores against austria he'll probably celebrate cos that'll mean we've qualified
