This time, as I said in the other thread, we will win.
Italy- Romania: 2-0 (if everything goes in the way it should go); 2-1 (we score two goal in the first fraction and romanians score at 90'); 3-0 (we dominate)
One of these three.
i hope you don't win. ;) but you're free to make any predictions. i say 2-0 for Romania :D. we'll just have to wait for friday to find out who was right (or maybe it's a draw :))

Italy 3 - Romania 0
Italy rarely disappoint in MUST WIN situations.
They can play some good football if they bare down and concentrate.

Seconded. After that abysmal show which were the first match, I'm confident our guys are gonna get the useful result.

3?
I'll just file this one away for after the match.
Maybe one day you guys will learn that predictions are bad luck. One day...

I am not so confident we will win after the abysmally poor tactical game we had vs Holland who were on the contrary excellent.
Let's hope the boys get their heads together and play the game as Italy should. A team effort with tactical awareness, cohesiveness and diligence as the main weapon.
I don't really know what we will see. One thing is for certain the loss of cannavaro was a terror bomb which hurted the team play even more than one could have thought. Don't know how much of that is psychological rather than else. Bringing him in the bench was not enough, actually it could have been counterproductive as it functioned as a reminder that the undiscussed captain wasn't going to play.
we'll see.
Not that failing miserably after winning a WC (or after a very good WC) would be something new. Not just in the euros, also in the following WC.
We are just used to fail in a more honorable way.

i think in this game who scores first will win. if Romania scores then their defense will be almost unbreakble. if Italy scores Romania won't have offensive players on the field and again it will be almost impossible for us to equalize.

Very well said, and I agree 100%. I would expect Italy to score first, they don't make mistakes if given the chance.
I'm not superstitious.
Making 3-0 predictions is ridiculous and bordering on ignorant. Romania beat HOLLAND twice I believe, the same team that spanked us. You better go grab your cross, rabbits foot, corno, whatever because we're going to need all the luck to win this. Predictions are bad luck in my experience, simple as that. Are you familiar with the difficulties we have against Croatia, that isn't too far off the same style of play that Romania fields?

Damn I can't wait for the game.
Anyway, Donadoni will probably put Chiellini on the back and Del Piero from the start.

i see Italy with problems in the defense. Chiellini and Barzagli never played togheter, did they? on the other hand if we play the same way as with France it doesn't matter how poor Italy's defence is if we don't even reach their goal...as i said before it all comes down to who will score first. or we can have another boring 0-0...

I don't think that who will score first will win. The tomorrow game is a great "?" and it can finish even with a great number of goal by both teams.
You know, I'm really thinking about a thing that could happen, but is a prediction and I don't want say another prediction, cause (like someone already said) it takes bad luck, and in many things I'm pretty superstitious.

well i hope you're right i would love to see a high scoring game. of course not a loss for us :D c'mon predictions don't bring bad luck. i actually won some good money on betting a year ago. it just that by predicting a 4-0 victory for your team you'll just be fooling yourself. sincerely if i were to bet on this game (although i never bet on a team i suport) i would say 1-0 to Italy. but anything is possible and we also could snatch a victory on the conter-attack.

Dica is rumored to be on the verge of starting.
That will break the game wide open.

I don't bet/play to hazard games since I lost 3500 € (a month of hard work) in a slot machine at Montecarlo :D.
1-0 to italy? it could be. A game like the one in WC 2006 against Australia.

2-0 Italy.
We didn't even play that badly against Holland we just couldn't put the ball in the net.
Romania will get counter chances but there's a big difference between Hollands counter quality and Romania. I also expect Italy to make the right defensive changes.
Hopefully the Dutch do us a favor and beat/tie France but I'm not holding my breath.

Yes, I think that this point is very important when trying to analyze the possible outcomes of the Romania match.
In the second half, when Donadoni finally got around to making changes, we created some very good scoring opportunities that, had the subs come earlier and our finishing been better, may have tied the score for us. It wasn't meant to be, as the final scoreline attests, but since the Italian team that will be starting against Romania will be much better than even the one that played in the second half, the scoreline against Holland may not be as pertinent as some may think.
