I would respect the French Football Federation if they benched every starter from Monday except the goalie for lack of national spirit to make a point. Let the chips fall where they may.a bit harsh no? if you can't fault coupet, how then thuram or gallas? and just how did toulalan or makelele lack "national spirit" (offensive technique i'll buy)? as for anelka and benzema, their problem had nothing to do with effort, and ribéry worked up a giant sweat, like always. that leaves sagnol, malouda, abidal, just like i said. i agree they should be benched, but if anyone is to make the decision, it's domenech, not the FFF. france isn't north korea!

Malouda and Domenech must have compatible zodiac signs because the guy always starts no matter how bad he plays.

Really, the excuses have to stop for France. France is not a small soccer nation that is making a small show. They have the talent to be a soccer super-power. They have to play with absolute domination from the start, or try to play that way, because if any other nation had that much talent on their side, it would impose their will from the start.
On top of that, France used to stand for something like liberty, and spirit. Compared to their potential, their display speaks volumes about how woeful their national side spirit is. That much caution this early in the tournament is sad.
I am neutral, but they look like the definition of prima donna's to me. Sorry to be so harsh, but this has happened before.
Without Zizou, do they have the standing to be dominant?
Maybe they will prove me wrong.

Not disrespect but if Italy loses to Romania on Friday then they deserve to go home.
A desperate World Cup winning team will beat Romania on Friday. ;)

What Italy have to worry about now is goal differential, 0 for and 3 against could be costly

I did all the math and I don't see how goal differential can come into play. Head to head is the 1st tie breaker.

What it comes down to...
Italy are World Champs and just got smoked. Though the results can go the other way, they can beat both Romania and France. Therefore, because they are capable, then they need to not make any excuses and come out and win both games. If they find away to falter by way of a tie or loss, they deserve to go home. It's simple - if they want it bad enough, they'll make it happen.

Absolutely true.
If any other "power" in Europe was in this position and dug themselves out it, it would be attributed to hard work. To Italy's critics on the other hand, it will be something aside form hard work that "allows" them to win...

When you lose a battle in war, who do you turn to? The General. It's all up to Donadoni right now, he needs to prove his worth or it will be proven he was a big mistake all along.
