here's an interesting excerpt from ESPN..........
".........With Freddy Adu emerging, and Landon Donovan taking his game to another level, the U.S. now has two players who can scare even the top defenses in the world. .......Unfortunately, it might require a coach with greater tactical ingenuity than Bob Bradley to fit all the pieces together"
Alright, I am overly exaggerating. David Mosse isn't exactly an international caliber journalist, nor he is a chief editor at ESPN, and his comment probably won't carry any weight or listened by anyone. But at least the guy has the gut to say what needed to be said (while guys like Wahl, Trecker, et all tried to stay away from this heated topic as far as they possibly can).
I truly think Bradley is doing a decent job with our squad, and he might be a pretty good guy too. But to take our team to a higher level and give our players a coach that's worthy of their growing talents, sadly Bob needs to step aside.

Agree. If we continue to say it loud and often, eventually the national media will pick up on it.
Honestly, I think Bradley should buy Howard a few drinks as he clearly saved (pun intended) his job.

You're dreaming. This is America. People tune in to watch the olympic teams and World Cup teams play. Then no one in the media cares about US Soccer for 4 years again. Our media is interested in what baseball players used steroids and who they slept with, not soccer.

QuakesRockMySocks,
Take my name off your shirt.
I've been a USA fan for a long time and I screamed my heart out for us in Germany and during several qualifiers. I think I've earned the right to call myself a USMNT fan.
You want him fired, fine, to each his own. I realize that a vocal plurality of members of this site want Bradley fired but unless we struggle in qualifying it simply ain't gonna happen. Certainly, criticism of the coach is both your right and a big purpose of this website but I think there remain Bradley believers here who understand that we do not have the rosters of Argentina, Italy or Brazil to work with . . .

Sadly, even that won't matter as the USSF could care less what the national media thinks about the US men's coaching position.

Well said.
I've been saying that since the England match.

Excuse. Excuse. Excuse. Bob Bradley will never be required to make strides if we always make excuses of lack of talent. Weak.

The USSF does care or, at least, its sponsors do.
Mosse may not be much - it's a blog, not a column - but it's on ESPNSoccernet, which means it was approved by Chang. And if Chang is on the same page, that means that Galarcep ... (ok, not Galarcep ... he'll write how great this game was within a couple of days) and others will be allowed to vent on the topic.
And that's the first domino.

Guess what? It is a valid reason/excuse. There are teams like Holland, Spain and Portugal who have never won World Cups because although they are good, there is more talent out there. This isn't the NFL this is International Soccer. You can't go out and BUY talent.

Maybe the conversation went something like this after the game:
Gulati: So Bob what did you think of our performance over the last 3 games?
Bradley: I thought we accomplished a lot of things, we played very well tonight for over twenty minutes and really took it Argentina, there were other moments I felt we played well.
Gulati: And the other games?
Bradley: These are very difficult teams to play against, they have very good players, we did what we had to do to try and play with them; I think we accomplished a lot of things.
Gulati: Soooo............we were pretty lucky in that first half tonight, Howard really came up with some big saves.
Bradley: Timmy was sharp tonight, our defense was under pressure much of the half; I think we accomplished a lot of things in that first half.
Gulati: Are you pretty set with who you're calling in for the Barbados game?
Bradley: We think we accomplished a lot of things with regards to the players we will select for the upcoming qualifiers, these games gave us a clear picture of "who gets it", and "who doesn't get it".
Gulati: "Gets" what?
Bradley: Exactly.
Gulati: What "exactly"?
Bradley: "Gets it".
Gulati: I'll call you Bob, thanks, good job Bob.

I don't understand how much energy and wasted time some people put into demanding Bob Bradley's ouster. Just a reminder- unless something extraordinary happens between now and 2010 (like facing non-qualification for South Africa), Bradley's tenure will not be reviewed until after the World Cup. So why bother grousing about something that can not happen for at least two more years? Criticize his coaching? By all means. But harping on and on about firing him is an exercise in futility.

We can't buy talent from overseas. But why is it that, in England and Spain, BB can't make good moves, than we all call for his firing, and he makes good moves against Argentina.
We get destroyed by England and Spain, but fight Argentina for a full 90. That's the sign of an inconsistent clueless coach.
Why did we go to CopaAmerica with nobody? Who knows. He's terrible!!

I mean, a couple of years.

Sure you can. Just lure those Brazilians here by talking about the standard of living (or something)

I know we do not have the same talent on the roster and so bob has less to work with but the majority expect less compared to Spain and Portugal and other big name teams. We should demand better results this is more than just about the past 3 games. We ask the plays to be at the top of their game and I feel we should ask the coach to do the same.

Why did we go to CopaAmerica with nobody? Who knows. He's terrible!!
Anyone that actually follows the US team or knows a thing or two about international soccer knows that Bradley wasn't able to call up most of his first team players for Copa America because we're not part of CONMEBOL and therefore club teams weren't required to release our players for the tournament.
You can blame Bradley for a thing or two here and there, but this myth that he took a C team to Copa on purpose still gets peddled and its old.

No, the myth is that the Copa America team couldn't help but get destroyed over the 3 matches.
This, as the outgoing commander-in-chief once said is, "Soft bigotry of low expectations".

You must be new to Soccer. What good moves? At first the majority were complaining about Califf starting ahead of their man-crush Jay DeMerit. Also why Pablo Mastroeni was playing and not Freddy Adu. We got beat down by England 2-0 at Wembley. We played a little better against Spain due to Adu being able to hold the ball and create attacks and we lost 1-0 after a dazzling goal by Xavi. Against Argentina we were once again out-possessed but we had LD healthy and players with experience from the Spain and England game. That is why we got better as each game went along, it is called LEARNING. And that is what these friendlies were for. To learn and grow as a team.
Why did we go to CopaAmerica with nobody? Who knows. He's terrible!!
Because teams didn't HAVE to release players like they did for the Gold Cup. Becuase we were looking at different players and because quite frankly some players weren't interested in the tournament because it would just make there summer time busier with less time to relax before the long club seasons begin in late August.
I understand if your new to this whole soccer thing so those are the answers to your questions. :)
